I wonder if Austin Scott will be moving to the Broadway company after Michael Luwoye leaves.  Edred Utomi is absolutely wonderful as Alexander Hamilton.

This also leads me to wonder how much longer Joseph Morales has with the tour, as it’ll be a year on February 6th since he started with the Second National Tour. According to BWW “The First National Tour begins performances in San Diego, CA on Saturday, January 6, 2018”, a year to the day Austin Scott departed. Maybe Mr. Morales will be leaving in less than a month?

I wouldn't be surprised given Michael's last performance is in about five weeks.

Edred was wonderful when I saw him. Glad he's getting to be lead Hamilton

Edred is spectacular as Hamilton, as is Scott. Hoping Scott goes to Broadway, that'd be incredible!

He did good! He wears the Lin/Javi wig and goatee so he looks like the Hamilton people familiar with Lin know, but looks more like Javi. Sings like...Christian Borle. It’s odd hearing a singer sing the piece because it brings some surprise moments especially since Alexander can hit some high notes. He also enunciates well so there were not a lot of dropped lyrics. Any criticism it would be to get the little nuances down, but I don’t know how many times he’s actually gone one.

Charnette was a great Eliza! Her “Burn” was fantastic!

It was a good night overall.

Now that Edred is the full time Hamilton, have they added another Burr understudy or standby? Alexander Ferguson remains one but the new standby isnt covering Burr.

Has anyone seen Dorcas Leung as Eliza? I saw her as Angelica (amazing Satisfied) and my friend saw her as Peggy/Maria (she said she was great) so I'm very curious about her portrayal of Eliza. I noticed that her voice is a lot higher than say, Goldsberry's or Olivio's.

Finally saw Hamilton for the first time last Saturday night.  (Ironically my computer died when I got home from the show and reading about it on Wikipedia).  I really enjoyed it more than I thought.  I did not go in with high expectations and my 4th row balcony seat was a better view than I thought.  Was there times during the show that I didn't know what was going on due to the rap and/or historical events?  Yes, but those were minor, and it was easy to follow the plot of the show.  I enjoyed the music, especially the many reprises of the only song I knew and loved "Look Around" (Not title).  The performances were top knotch especially the performers playing Burr, Eliza and Anjelica.  I had Joseph Morales for Hamilton.  Although he was very good, I felt our Burr was stronger.  The only complaint I had was at times during the show, the woo girls and boys felt it was more important for them to scream out.  I don't know if this is something that is consistent at other performances.  Would I see Hamilton multiples times like many others on here?  No, but I would definitely go back if I won the lottery and/or the tickets prices started to lower.

^ ^ ^ Glad you enjoyed the show!!! I’m now shooting for the Columbus, OH lotteries, but recently have decided to skip seeing it in Chicago. Need to keep branching out with newer shows and get back to Broadway. I’m thinking seeing “Hamilton” twice is enough for right now. HAMILTON National Tour

Saw the Angelica tour in Cincinnati last night. It was my third time (previously saw it in Chicago, and the Philip tour in Cleveland). Overall I thought the cast was wonderful (the only understudy I had was for George Eacker), but the standouts to me were Bryson Bruce as Jefferson and Paul Oakley Stovall as Washington. Paul Oakley Stovall especially. I was blown away by his performance, he was just the right mix of gravitas and levity. And his stage presence was outstanding, I was drawn to him every time he was on.

Hello Hamilton fans,

I am trying to give some Hamilton fan who lives in the SF area a great seat in the middle of the orchestra (row N) for half price to the show at the SF Orpheum on 3/17 at 1:00 pm.

If anyone knows someone who might be interested in scoring a single ticket to this afternoon show, please reply to me or send me an email at Dstone5553 at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

I saw the Angelica tour in Detroit recently. I had previously seen Hamilton in NYC in the Munoz/BVD days and in Chicago with Cervantes/Brady, so I’m not a stranger to the show and variations of acting’s choices in the roles. Hannah Cruz was Eliza And currently she has a haircut that I felt took her completely out of the role and did not fit the character at all. It was very distracting to see Eliza portrayed with a partially shaved head IMO. And she makes some very interesting choices, enunciation-wise. Speaking dialogue that is usually done in a song song way, cutting off words, etc. She has a lovely voice and seems very talented and passionate, but this role does not seem like a great fit. The rest of the cast was amazing and the actor who played Jefferson/Lafayette hit it out of the park with the French accent and rap portions and hamming it up as Jefferson. Strong cast and the show is still in great shape.

One thing—I do wish Hamilton would do a more traditional curtain call where the audience could applaud cast members more individually. That is always a fun part to end the show IMO.

So, I saw the show again last night. Three in NY (Munoz/Dixon, Luwoye/Breaker, McFerrin/Breaker), Atlanta with Angelica tour (Scott/ Christopher), and finally, last night, in Dallas with the Philip tour. Most of the cast was intact except for Eliza and Hamilton (Sunday night, natch). Walker was excellent as Burr but I have to say that standby Pierre Jean Gonzalez was absolutely tremendous as Hamilton. Ten times better than McFerrin was, for my money. Right on time with all the spoken and sung parts, with a convincing and nuanced portrayal of the character. I also thought that Elijah Malcomb made a very, very good Laurens/Philip. Someday if Medina (whom I love) leaves the NY cast, I would not be unhappy to see this bundle of young talent end up there. he also has a beautiful singing voice (not hear that much in this role, of course).

Is five times enough? Or will I buy tickets again in Fort Worth next summer? To be determined...

Hey guys, Hamilton is finally coming to Oklahoma City this summer (July 30 - August 18). Tickets go on sale tomorrow.

The on-line process will start with entering the virtual waiting room tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.then sales starting at 10:00 a,m. Alternatively, the box office will start selling tickets tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with strict instructions not to arrive before 8:00 a.m. and even then it won’t be first come, first serve. Rather, it is my understanding that those in-line will get a bracelet that tells them what time to return.

Trying to decide which option is my best bet. I don’t have to work tomorrow. I initially thought I’d go to the box office and also enter the virtual waiting room on my iPhone but I’m guessing if I accidentally let my iPhone lock, that I might be kicked out of the virtual waiting room.

Also, my laptop sometimes sporadically drops its internet connection and has to re-establish its connection which I assume would kick me outta the virtual waiting room. This might not happen at all some days or for most of a day, but then could occur daily sometimes.

So, for those who have been through this process, any advice is most welcome. It’s my favorite musical (seen it once on Broadway in November 2015 and twice in Chicago) so want to secure a ticket tomorrow.

I’m also thinking of trying for the first performance as I imagine the energy from the cast and audience will be insane unless others have had differing experiences on their cities.

Thanks in advance for all kind and helpful responses.

I kind of went through the process, so I hope my opinion helps.  When Hamilton went on sale for Orlando, I was in the waiting room, but it was a wait of at least two hours.  I could not devote that much time so I disconnected.  Found out later the system crashed, (which it could happen in Oklahoma City) and I would have wasted all that time sitting/ waiting.  My advice is to go to the box office (which I couldn't do, due to a 4 hour roundtrip drive).  Although you won't be guaranteed of your spot in line, you are kind of more in control of whether or not you are able to purchase a ticket.

Thanks! This is helpful. Can you tell me if when you enter the waiting room if it tells you how long your wait is?

Miles, when I first logged on, it only took a minute or so, to enter the waiting room.  I thought to myself, well that was easy.  Once I was in the waiting room, (if I remember correctly) it said your wait is over two hours.  It never gave a specific time.  Of course I could have been there for hours and nothing happened.  Later I read before the system crashed, people were waiting well over 5 hours.

Sigh...looks like I’ll be getting up early and going to the box office...the things we do for love and music and theater...Thanks!

This was my experience posted back on 11/07/2018...

dmwnc1959 said: "Tickets for Pittsburgh’s January 2019 run of “Hamilton” went on sale this past Monday. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust used the Virtual Waiting Room concept (similar to what Cleveland had done earlier this year) instead of Verified Fans through Ticketmaster. I was trying to help my neighbor get tickets for her and her 12 year old daughter. She couldn’t go online,so I voluntarily took the day off to give it my best effort.

No matter when you logged in, at the magic hour everyone received a random number.Once the clock struck 9am and the random numbers were handed out to those of us in the “waiting room”, I received position 84,799. Yes, there were nearly 85k people ahead of me. Wow. And that doesn’t include those who were most likely “in line” behind me, and in line at the box office in Pittsburgh. So, roughly 100k people? For 86,000 seats? Nope, there’s more...

Now, keep in mind lots of tickets had already been “sold” to those who had season tickets last year and then renewed, plus those who had Waitlisted for season tickets and were lucky, like myself. However, each household was allowed up to 4 tickets, hence my effort to help my neighbor.

This wait for tickets went on for hours and hours, and at the rate of about 1300 people per 15 minutes - I watched the rate at which my number decreased - I finally quit after three hours when my number was still at 69,547. The odds were not in my favor here.

I logged in much later in the day and the wait line was still supercrazy, and by the next morning at 6am only scattered singles and premium seats were available.

Of the 31 performances scheduled in January, 18 are completely sold out, and those that are not list less than 1% availability remaining (all are premium seats @ $490 each)save one show at less than 2%.

So, now she is going to try the lottery when it starts later in December.

This show is crazy popular, and even with the tour it’s difficult to get tickets unless you’rea season subscriber or very lucky.
