BEETLEJUICE - Pre-Broadway Tryout in DC Oct 20

Saw the show this afternoon and enjoyed it. Let me pause and say that The National Theater needs some repairs as the paint is peeling off the ceiling.
The show I liked. It was fun, the set design is really good.
Act 1 needs to cut some songs and the ending needs to be sped up a bit. It felt like it took forever to reach the end.
The cast was solid, the songs I thought mostly for the tone, the boy band number has a point to it as it’s were we see the characters we kno

Just got out. Lila Coogan was out (she posted on Instagram she was sick) Beth Stafford Laird was on as Anya and she was amazing! It was her first time, I wonder how much notice she got before hand.
There’s a full merch cart that takes up the whole middle of the lobby. Not sure of window cards, but they had so much stuff displayed.
The projections used are really good. I enjoyed the show. The cast is still finding pacing in some spots, but it was a great evening overall.
2) as soon as the doors open at 1/2 hour there’s “work” going on and if you’re in the orchestra you might be called upon to help.
3) Tough to say as it’s all part of the show but the line “disaterous, blackout end act 1” is the last line and the curtain comes down. Can’t point to a part it’s not a musical so there is no song to reference.

The set is identicle, but smaller scale, but everything is there that I remember. There’s a lot more curtains to the side of the set, but that would change with the size of the stage. The Benedum stage is large and the set only takes up a small center.
As for the direction, the gags and set disasters are all there.

Just got out of the show. It was excellent! The audience couldn’t stop laughing. It was a great night at the Benedum Center.

That performance for The Bands Visit wasn’t good at all. I wasn’t a fan of the show, but thought Katrina was wonderful, but that didn’t come off well on TV.

Yes, the Lyric scans off the mobile.

I noticed there was an (new?) opening number as it’s in he video put out by ACT, but looking at some older videos was the original opening number the song about their hometown Urainium? Not sure if it had a title, but it went thru a small history of the town then went into Karnak feeling sorry about giving them misleading fortunes.

I figured she wasn’t continuing with this when it was announced she was premiering a cabaret show in Pittsburgh in October. The date would’ve been in the middle of previews.
I saw the show Saturday 4/7 and sat in Balcony Row C in the center. Rows B & C have amazing leg room. The rest of the Balcony not so much. I am over 6 ft tall and it was amazing to have all that room up there. The view was great too!

Has anyone sat in the Balcony? I have Balcony Center Row C on Saturday and wondering how things look from there. I skimmed most of the thread and didn’t see much about that area.

Gavin has a chest infection and lost his voice and then threw his back out. So it was unexpected, but surprised they didn’t have a costume for Alex ready.
After being close to giving up I did get tickets. I was in a 11 and of course there was the price issue with the dates I needed. Luckily I saw the fixed it and hopped on April 7 and got 5 tix Center Balcony Row C for $120 + TM Fees $260.20 per ticket set ($130.10 a part).
Yeah $120 for balcony. Their pricing is all over the place, but hey I got them.
It started out well with the opening and Amelie's backstory and there were a few fun and charming parts, but then it drags and as mentioned by several people that hour forty-five feels like forever.
For me one of the best moments was toward the end were the female characters ask Nino his intentions. It broke up the monotony.
I agree there is no stand alone number for Amelie to have her moment. There's a per
