I breathed a sigh of relief after not coming across the name of Cornelius Ortiz but there is a certified shaite-stirrer in the group, and season 14 is well represented. Some of you will recall that season in which a craft-works project won. Let's hope the fashion is never eclipsed by the drama.
I always wonder how many people turned them down that causes them to have to resort to repeat repeaters.
I'll still watch, cuz I love watching people do things that I cannot.

I obviously mixed up seasons 14 & 15. S14 produced an undeserved win by water-works while a craft-works project took the top prize in S15. There's been enough written about Ken already. Mister Matt is so perceptive.
Where are designers from the Bravo seasons? Surely Nick Verreos and Santino need a paycheck, and I'd love to see designers like Laura Bennett, Chris March, and Jillian come back!

Sadly, one episode in and one of the nicer designers is gone already. The guest judge was PR All-stars alum Michael Costello who was in full on Michael Kors mode. I'm already detecting mutual sniper fire from the casts of seasons 12 and 13. And a new improved version of Kelly from the Deli is back. But, the highlight of the first episode was the new mentor, Marie Claire’s editor-in-chief Anne Fulenwider. Her walk-through critiques were spot on. There will be no construction or taste issue that gets past Georgina and her.
LOVED the runway last night -- but was a little suprised by the outcome.

Just watched the 2nd episode. Can't believe the outcome either. I also suspect that the other designer up for elimination was put on notice. He still clings to the outdated aesthetic that partly cost him the win in his regular season. A few of the All Stars have really grown as designers, especially Joshua McKinley who once sent a model down the runway wearing this.
Just watched the 4th episode and hated it. It was the notorious unconventional materials challenge this time with a very limited choice of materials. The materials alone guaranteed that most of the garments would be butt ugly. Surprisingly, a few of the designers made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Nonetheless, I didn't agree with the selection of ... as the winning designer and was really disappointed to see ... eliminated. But, what really got my goat was Helen's behavior. She hasn't matured one bit since her regular season. I could overlook her narcissism if she were by and large the most innovative and fashion forward designer of the bunch, which is not the case.
She was throwing some serious shade around. Dug herself a hole....hope next week isn't a team challenge! I thought the winning design was a bit too goldfish for me.

"I thought the winning design was a bit too goldfish for me."
I saw goldfish too. Edmond's design screamed Xenia Warrior princess; the rainbow dresses were all hideous; and the front of Amanda's design looked like an ill fitting Brazilian flag dress. Fabio was robbed. The final looks can be seen here.
I didn't get how she was cast in PR All Stars to begin with. There was nothing noteworthy about her craft projects during her regular season and she's shown the least amount of growth as a designer among the current crop of All Stars. I'm still pissed that Amanda Valentine was sent home before her.
I never understood how Merline made it on her first season of PR, much less be considered an "All Star". How many people had to turn it down before they called her? She's a one-trick pony that can only execute the trick about 25% of the time. I can't believe she lasted this long.

This is a first. I actually agree with the judges' pick of winning designer. I also think that the 3 finalists were the strongest and most closely matched in the PRA history. Every woman I know who's a fan of the series wanted at least 2 pieces from each finalist's collection. However, not one of them had anything nice to say about what host Alyssa was rocking at the finale.
Of course, this could be the end of the PR franchise unless another network picks up the properties. Lifetime's parent A&E recently opted to terminate its contract with the producer you-know-who thanks to the allegations of sexual harassment raised against him. I really hope that both PR and PRA return to Bravo.
