The spring season is right around the corner. Carousel is stacking stars and Once On This Island is prepared to do some Tony damage with Hailey Kilgore about to break out. With the impending chance that Dreamgirls will transfer this season, when will My Fair Lady announce their leads? Have they not found them yet? Are there still no leaks?
When are we going to get info on this potentially Tony-winning revival? Because right now, I would much rather see the other three than this.
No info, love. The only "leak" was a report that Benanti got cast, then wasn't the next week, followed by Lauren Ambrose being cast and that her casting had caused "rifts" between Sher and other actresses who wanted the part. Last leaked news was that they're struggling to find a Higgins who'd commit to the role. We'll see I suppose. I don't expect it to fall through, but definitely not something which should have gone this long without principals announced.

Word on the street is that there could be more than one breakout hit song from this show (something about dancing all night?) and the leading man hardly even sings! It's mostly spoken to rhythm!
LCT is a non-profit, so they have the luxury of waiting to announce casting. If this are a commercial venture, I would have expected some announcement by now. I don't think they announced King and I leads until October. Are tickets even on sale yet? They can easily fill the first part of the run with their large subscriber base, even without a cast announcement. They have that luxury that commercial productions, that rely on advance sales, don't.

LOL. First OOTI has to still be around come Tonys, which I believe is doubtful, and even if they are...serious damage? Nah."
I mean, they don't have to still be around for the Tony's. Plenty of closed shows get nominations (and occasionally wins). The OOTI cast is talented but aside from Timoune, I have trouble thinking of a character who could turn in a nomination-worthy performance in a competitive year. It's not really that kind of show.
Anyway, I'm prepared to get all excited if they find good leads for My Fair Lady. But with all the revivals, it's hard to get all that excited without artwork, word of mouth, show clips, etc.

I remember Kelli being announced just after "Bridges" closed - but maybe I'm mistaken?
They/them.
