Marian is an odd fit for Sutton Foster, and yet I can somehow completely believe that rumor. I remember recently listening to a podcast where she was the guest, and she said that every appearance on the stage should feel like a completely new direction for her (I.E. - Reno Sweeney to Violet Karl to Charity Hope Valentine) - Marian seems to fit into that quite well. And might I also add that Foster had more nay-sayers than supporters when she wan announced to be taking on Reno Sweeney. If anyo

Jessica Vosk played Anita in a whole ass San Francisco Symphony production for which she received a Grammy nomination. Maybe take, like, a single second to research what you're talking about before just wanting to be right.

Why am I not seeing the same reaction Sierra Boggess got? I guess when it’s an actress you like, it’s fine..? I don’t know, y’all. I gave up my regional theatre debut because they asked us to do redface. Obviously not the same thing, really, but my integrity isn’t for sale.
Also, she wasn’t just given this job. Do you people know how the business works at all? Jessica Vosk wasn’t called up out of the blue for this. She auditioned for the production in 2014, and because of that glaring m
I've been doing some research, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the biopic's main plot point will focus on the abuse Holliday withstood from producer Darryl F. Zanuck. The film is entitled “Smart Blonde,” a reference to Holliday’s IQ of 172. Willy Holtzman (the screenwriter) previously wrote a play about Holliday, also called “S

I guess I’ll take this opportunity to say that I would pay a pretty penny for the Gwen Verdon as Charity ornament. Seriously...

A cute reminder to you all that YOUR time is precious and nobody is entitled to it. Similarly, nobody is entitled to Barrett’s precious time. Her charging for that time is her right as a human being, and frankly, it’s smart as hell. Stagedoor is fun, but it’s also like working overtime without getting paid for it.
I'm still thinking about the brilliance of "Sweet Charity" - so desperately wish they could transfer to the Circle. It would work so well there. It seems unlikely at this point, but just the new finale alone shakes me to my core. THAT is what a revival is all about.
I wish the Gwen Verdon one was still being sold! I missed the opportunity to buy it because I'm Jewish and didn't have anywhere to put it, but now they're selling stands for them. I would have bought it in 2013 if I knew there would be stands! Oh well. I love this tradition.
Are we thinking Kritzer or Butler could get recognized come Tony time? I'd love for Kritzer to pick up her first nomination, but don't know if her role is big enough.
