I've dreamt about being a cast member of "Chicago" (big shocker there). In my dream, I was Billy Flynn and forgot my lines.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Ha, these are so funny! All of my theatre dreams involve me getting tickets to shows I *really* want to see....needless to say, I'm always very disappointed to wake up!
I once had a dream I had to step in for someone playing Tony in West Side Story and I knew the score and could fake my way through the dialogue, but didn't know any of the staging so whenever I had to move a stagehand had to run out and push me around to where I needed to be.
Oh my god, I've had SO many! My most recent one was being in the audience of Billy Elliot, and then a stage manager came running toward me and said I had to cover for both Billy and Mrs. Wilkinson. Don't ask because I don't know. It was completely random and made no sense but it felt terrifyingly real.
I dreamt once that I was playing the title role in Hamilton, and was so bad I was replaced mid-performance. No one told me I had been replaced, though, so there were two Hamiltons for a bit. I caught on eventually, though, and bowed out gracefully.
I had a dream... A dream about me being the stagehand during a production of GYPSY and when it was time for the strip number, the actress broke her leg and couldn't go on and I was sent out in complete fishy drag. I lip sync'd as Laura Benanti sang from the wings. People hooted when I took off clothing I had borrowed from Violet Chachki (whom I had on speed dial), it was glorious. Laura Benanti wasn't even playing Gypsy Rose Lee during the earlier part of the dream so I don't know why she was signing but who cares.
Apart from this, I day dream about playing all the characters in Casa Valentina about twice a week.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.
No word of a lie. As an actor every time I audition for a role that I desperately want I always dream that I'm in the production but everyone ignores me and refuses to be my friend.
When I booked my first professional job in Australia (2016 Melbourne sit down production of Avenue Q) I had a recurring nightmare that I kept going on stage with the wrong puppet or without a puppet all together.
What amazing stories! There are times when it's really difficult to think up of a thread that hasn't been discussed in previous years. At times, I daydream (does that count?) that I'm Roxie Hart and performing "Hot Honey Rag". There's a part where both ladies twirl around and tap their shoes with their hands. Seems tremendously difficult.

I once had a dream that Betsy Wolfe got sick and all her covers were sick as well. They called out if there was anyone in the audience that knew all of Cordelia from Falsettos lines and then i went on and Andrew Rannells have me the last bow.
