I will have lots of fun reading this thread tomorrow - I'm on the west coast and I have to work until 10 tonight, so I will be up until 1 watching the awards! Hopefully next year I'll be able to watch them "live". Anyways, since I can't be here to comment, Just know I firmly want Fun Home to win Best Musical, Score, Book, Supporting Actress (Kuhn, but I'll still be happy if Lucas wins), and Leading Actor. If Cerveris doesn't win, I hope Tony Yazbeck wins. Sending good thoughts to Hand to God and Boyer, as well as Ashford.

Praying, hoping, wishing, sacrificing my soul to the devil, wanting, dreaming that Kelli will win Best Leading Actress.

Hope everyone has fun watching!

PS Know that I skipped through the Finding Neverland performance. Ain't nobody got time for trash.

Settle down, Mrs. Plummer. I loved NEVERLAND, and would place it several notches above other best musical nominees (sorry, fans of THE VISIT).

Isn't that what Tony Season is all about? To have fierce supporters and defenders :)

Glad you enjoyed the show, Someone. I actually really loved The Visit. However, if Something Rotten wins score over Fun Home, I might just be inconsolable.

There's no race I'm really invested in but I'm hoping for good performances. I haven't seen most of the nominated shows and I've stayed away from a good deal of the promo material so I'll be able to appreciate the Tony performances for what they are out of context. The only exception might be hearing New York, New York AGAIN from On the Town. I don't know what to expect from Kristin and Alan as hosts. I like them both but I think she can overdo it sometimes. I'm in the middle of reading Not My Father's Son so hopefully hearing him host tonight will get his voice into my head. I think the prose loses something when I'm just reading it with the regular American-accented voice in my head.

Josh Groban just lied, he was at FH.  Strange.

They don't televise the first hour of awards -

I meant the site should be announcing them.

But I just read on playbill that they expect the first 8 awards to be given out between 7:30 and 8:00.

Kind of impressed with Darren on the red carpet. I didn't have any expectations for him, but he's clearly done his homework.

Ben Stanton should have won for Fun Home. Let's hope this isn't the beginning of a trend...

I'm glad AAIP won.

Is anyone watching this from a streaming site? My local CBS or my satellite feed has been glitching out ALL DAY and it looks like it's not gonna stop. Link?

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

I can't tell if it's just my speakers/ sound mixing, but I couldn't hear a word Alan or Kristin said in that opening if the crowd was cheering or clapping.

Just me or was the red-carpet MUCH more glamorous and sophisticated this year? Guess hiring Anna Wintour was a smart move.
