Pippin Rush

I don't get the appeal of selling a box seat at full price.
I was at TKTS the other night and Pippin was up for 20%
They quoted me a box at $116.50
Which as we know boxes are more often then not a partial view seat.
So why sell partial view at full price?
Doesn't make sense
Even if they sold the boxes for $89 or something a bit cheaper

If you do get a rush seat, do they expect you to rush to your seat perhaps using a slow run or a brisk trot or can you walk normally and even pause to use the restroom if needed before entering the seating area? What is their policy?

I think the meaning behind a "rush seat" Is that everything is in a line and "rushes" to get them at the same time. Meaning that they take the line of people for these specialized priced tickets at a particular time and not throughout the day.

Do people still tend to start lining up at 5:00 am, even on Sundays? I don't want to wait on line for seven hours if I don't have to.

Does anyone know how busy rush is on weekdays? I'm considering rushing this show on Thursday.

Noracharles, it's looking like it might still be that way. When I walked by at 8:30 this (Saturday) morning, there were more than 50 people in line.

For gchris,
I rushed on Wednesday and the price was still $37, and they still sold box seats.

Do they sell a set number of tickets? On Playbill just recently it said that they sell what's available, which on some days could be nothing.

the MAX number they have is 20. but it could be less.

nora-my friend went last Sunday (it opens later on Sunday-12 noon) and said the line didn't form as early as it had on the weekdays or Sat. (For what it's worth, she said people didn't get there until more like 7.)

Has anyone tried Rush lately at Pippin? I am going to try and see this next week. If I try during the week could I show up a few mins before the box office opens (and are the seats still in the boxes or do they vary)?

Where have the seats been located for Rush lately?

Not sure, I have not rushed since the week the new leads went in. Was not impressed with the new cast. He is too old and she does not have the same bite/edge that Patina had. I may go back for the new Charles (since he was the original Pippin), but other than that I am steering clear of this mess.

Seeing Pippin Tonight- Got to the box office as 9:00 and there were about 25 people ahead of us so wasn't expecting much if anything. we got B9,B11 and C11- Hopefully the view isn't too bad. two of us have already seen the show from both Mid Orchestra and Front Mezzanine. Will report back on my findings after the show.

They're likely offering more rush seats now since they show is only selling around 80% capacity. It's also always up at TKTS for 50% off.

Just got back from the show. First I must say that the show is in great shape. Cierra and Kyle are actually really good in their roles. Kyle looks older then Matthew, but it still works (I will admit I voiced my doubts about him in the role). Everyone was excellent as usual

Now about the seats. Row B is actually front row on the sides- But three rows back in Center. Row B on the sides is against the stairs. as people have said, the stage is pretty darn high and I was worried, but once the show started it was fine. The view is somewhat obstructed from what's going on downstage, but that's really it. It was thrilling being soo close and also being able to see what was going on in the wings. I am 6 foot and my father is 6'3' So we only had a little problem seeing things. however, a group of older ladies was seated right next to us and they had difficulty because they were shorter. Their tickets were actually full price and were not even marked partial view (Which ours was) even though their seats really were. I was just glad I wasnet in row A, because they looked like they probably could see zip. Also, they do not give out booster seats for anyone over 90 pounds (even though I had gotten some when I saw Priscilla- but that was a different theatre).

In the end, if you have seen the show before then these seats would be fine, but if you're a Pippin Virgin, then you will want to be further back.

I went last Thursday. Got to the box office at noon and got a ticket in a box seat with a great view. Not even all the box seats were full.

The rush is very easy. They have been giving out 40 rush tickets.
