wow this looks GORGEOUS!! Amazing trailer that is definitely gonna hook a lot of people and spark a lot of interest.

My ONE hesitation is that they essentially told the entire plot of act one in the trailer. Now this could be a smart move because it will show people who are unfamiliar with the show just how interesting the story is. I also love that they are perfectly comfortable promoting that its a musical, I think this will work to its benefit.

I was a bit nervous about Ariana's acting, but she looks to be giving a charming and charismatic performance and her singing is gonna be amazing (obviously). Super excited for Cynthia's performance too, but I never had any concerns about her.

Overall I just got WAAAY more excited about this one than I was.

If they look sad and depressed it is because Cynthia said they both are channeling a certain broadway flash off of Broadway World. Your comments are ridiculous as always.

Wicked the novel came out 2 years before the first Harry Potter book, so, if anything, JK Rowling stole the idea of Hogwarts from Gregory Maguire, not the other way around. In any event, though, Shiz came first.

I'm guessing because he's an Olivier winning musical theater performer who starred on the most watched English-language show of the most popular global streaming service in the world... and that he's handsome and hell.

I have been cautiously optimistic about this movie since the first trailer and if nothing else, this next trailer has made me very excited to see it

The behinds the scenes released a few days ago made so much want to see this ( not a fan of the show ) but that trailer left me cold. What happened between.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

The biggest surprise in this trailer for me is Ariana Grande's acting. She comes across as natural and subtle and I can really see a Glinda in her.

I do not like Cynthia Erivo's acting at all. She is stiff and flat. I hear her lines but not in a single scene I can see the passion in her eyes. There is no life behind it. Which is a shame because Elphaba should be the opposite of that.

The biggest disappointment is Jonathan Bailey. This guy can not act AT ALL. He puts on an "acting face", in each scene (even though he only was in a few short scenes here) but I notice it immediately. One of the most insincere actors on the planet. Even in a play on a primary school you can't get away with that kind of put on "acting face".

Michelle Yeoh is great as always, 100% real and believable and terrifying in this role.

I do like the style and the way the scenes have more details than the stage show. Some of the shots in "popular" are quite hilarious. Also, Elphaba's note on 2:24 is an improvement on the version of the stage show. I hope this stays in the movie. I dislike the one at 3:24 very much.

Have you even seen any of his body of work? If not, it’s priceless how you’re judging his insanely acclaimed work by a few snippets of non-speaking footage on a film trailer. A FILM TRAILER.

Take a look and by the way, he’s British not American in real life:

Yes, unfortunately I am familiar with his "work". I truly don't get why they cast him.

But for me ... both girls go through a transformation over the course of the show. If Elphaba was bright eyed & bushy tailed from the start there wouldn't be much of a shift in the weather ;) We are talking about a girl who's father continues to push the idea it's her fault that her mother died, her only sister is disabled & that she was born green. Her moments of levity in the first act are normally mostly internal. With Glinda being quite literally the bubbly one. The yin & yang of it all.

To each their own, but Cynthia looks to be fabulous in the role as does Ari. IMO.

I was nervous about the overuse of CGI after the super bowl trailer, but the new trailer has raised my hopes significantly. There may be more CGI than I'd like, but I loved this peak at the practical sets.

Cynthia and Ariana look and sound excellent. The visual of Cynthia in the window tossing her cape before her flight is stunning. All the featured players also came off great in this trailer. I think Jeff Goldblum may surprise us. Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Bailey also look great.

My non-theatre friends also praised this trailer more highly than the super bowl ad.

Excitement piqued.

The trailer is slick, but I think it just may be too late for Wicked.  All I can think of is when The School for Good and Evil came out all anyone could say is "we've seen this material", comparing it to Harry Potter.  The popular princess blonde, the school to learn magic, the villain origin story...it's just all been done and done and done.

This post is hysterical. The poster is behaving as if they know, from a few clips, what the movie will be and the quality of the actors. Very funny.

In this new, full trailer, everything, from the sets and costumes to the staging and acting, looks smashing! Cynthia is actually acting the part extremely well, and Ariana is doing a good job, too! Maybe she needs to work a bit on her comedic timing or more emotion, but maybe she has it perfect like Cynthia, hard to judge. I wonder if the acting lessons she took helped, but it could all be just her doing a fantastic job! Michelle is also doing very well. But Cynthia is slaying. Her, "I don't know! I've never known!", is so natural and full of emotion, as is her "You have no real power!" I am so beyond excited!

Someone on YouTube re-edited all of the released footage in chronological order with the broadway score underneath. Makes you realise how much of the first act they've already shown: Link

The School for Good and Evil is LEAGUES behind Wicked in terms of interest, star-power, and name recognition.

Here we go what? Is there any substance to you or are you only capable of trying to create drama and division? Because I would love to hear your opinion on her acting. But maybe it's a little too ambitious of me to expect that from you.

When you post the same vitriol time and time again do you know that people remember your previous comments, do you think people don’t remember and will read them as if they’re new, or is a mixture of both?

I think she's giving flat line readings and there is nothing remotely terrifying in what we have seen so far.

Well they might’ve shown less of the plot if they were allowed to use any footage that indicates it’s a musical!

You do realize that your own posts are nothing more than that?

This is actually my first time commenting on Wicked, the trailer and the portrayal of the characters.

Do you also have an opinion about the subject and the portrayals or is it just vitriol and personal comments on other users coming out of you?
