Has anyone tried to get that price at the box office?

They fixed the prices as I bought my ticket! What the heck, it locked me out and then I went back and it was $149 again. What a shame.

I don't even know if that price is worth it. Wracking my brain if I even want to spend $25 (with fees) on this.

If those prices were really an accident, that is hilarious. What a mess already.

I would love to be there on August 13th for their first and last official performance. Whoever runs that Mitch account, can you hook me up?

If anybody got tickets, message me and I'll buy one and be your guest.

Here's what he said happened:

This was a "promotion" that GTBBT ran for a few hours, and suddenly discontinued when the system noticed the price was too low and too many people were on the system. According to him, people called in and some sort of error happened? I'm not sure, but I spent the past 10 minutes explaining that he has the wrong price and that the price on my end is different. The system locked me out and changed the price. I'll try some codes and see if it works but I don't know why Telecharge freaked out at it.

Here's my proof this existed, but I can't buy it: https://imgur.com/a/IuHQm5D

You know, I really want to be snarky about this whole disaster of a show even being on Broadway, but I'm just gonna let everything else play out. Also, being that this is a Ken Davenport show, he will try everything in his power to keep it open past August. I predict a late September/early October closing for this one!

I just checked a few dates....there are still 16.95 tix listed.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

They show up at that price on the seating chart, but then if you add them to your cart and go to check out they are at full price.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, you'd think it would be fixed by now!

FYI this was 100% intentional and not a glitch.

Nah. Davenport knows what hes doing. Have a random “glitch” happen so some people buy the tickets so the house fills up and doesnt look depressing with no one in it.

Can't hide, though, from abysmal grosses, and an average ticket price less than $50.

Totally agree - no way this just happened by mistake.

Buried at the bottom of that Forbes article:

"$12.5 million musical"

TWELVE POINT FIVE MILLION DOLLARS? I know Broadway musicals are expensive, but I just did a quick Google search about other Broadway budgets, and this is more expensive than An American in Paris ($11.5mil), Come From Away ($12mil), A Bronx Tale ($10mil), and Tuck Everlasting ($11mil). I figured this would be more like Fun Home ($5mil), In Transit ($7mil), or Gentleman's Guide (7.5mil). {granted, some of those shows are from a few years ago...but still!}

Insanity.

They better run this glitch one more time because for the first week of previews over 70% of the seats in the house are filled.

That can also include debt incurred from previous productions, too, though, no?

wasn't the previous production at a nonprofit theatre (George Street Playhouse)? It wouldn't seem like it's a GREAT COMET situation, where the debt from the "tent production" was included in the Broadway budget.

How is this show so expensive to produce, though? It looks pretty bare bones to me.

Someone may know better than I, but is the debt from past productions included in reported budgets only from full mountings of the show? While the most recent production was non-profit, Davenport has been working on this show for years. I remember him talking about it at an event I attended back in 2011 when he was calling it "Garage Band." So maybe the 12.5 million includes the many costs for workshops and such that they've incurred over close to a decade of work?

Makes sense. Sometimes, they're rolled into the budget. But, obviously, less attractive to investors.

I feel like Ken Davenport will keep this running far longer than necessary.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
