2017/2018 Season Just Announced!

The Sound of Music on Tour

Aladdin - The Musical

The Bodyguard - Musical

Elf The Musical

Hamilton: An American Musical

Love Never Dies

Les Misérables Broadway

The Book of Mormon on Broadway - Season add on

The Phantom of the Opera - Season add on

We are getting a lot but it is kinda of a disappointing season. The 5th Ave in Seattle just did their own huge production of the Sound of Music, as well as the out of town try-out for Elf. Not to mention Book of Mormon and Phantom of the Opera were just here last year. I'm hoping the 5th gets a couple of more exciting tour shows.

I really feel like they took Hamilton and padded it with some inferior shows.  I've no inclination at all to subscribe this year unfortunately.  I too will look to 5th for some shows.

I think we will take the plunge on the Seattle package. Couple shows in here I have zero interest in,(sound of music, Aladdin)  but maybe sell those off and use that cash to pick up a couple of the shows at the 5th ave theater. Would love to wait and see what they have to offer, but they don't announce their season schedule until March.

I'm really hoping the 5th Ave gets The Color Purple, that's the one show, besides Hamilton of course, that I really wanted to see on your. The 5th brings in the smaller shows like Gentlemans Guide and Fun Home. So I'm hoping that trend continues with The Color Purple.

I guess that confirms that the tour of Deaf West's Spring Awakening is not happening.

Seattle was one of the cities (along with LA's Center theater and the ASU Gammage) mentioned in the tour announcement. Link: https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Deaf-West-to-Take-Broadways-SPRING-AWAKENING-on-Tour-in-2017-20151209

While I don't really think it'll happen, the 5th hasn't announced their season and it could be going there.

Lol. Some of you are saying how disappointing your season is and I am just over here like "If you think that season is disappointing, then you DO NOT want to live in my city"

P.S.: Not trying to undermine the shows we get, it's just that everyone gets better the seasons than us. For example, we only really get non equity shows with one equity tour a year. So, if you have a question about how a non equity tour is, then I'm your guy.

Also to play Devils advocate, Seattle Theatre Group owns three theatres. And they have only announced the season for the Paramount (Which is the main touring house). While it rarely happens, some shows such as Peter and the Star catcher, toured at one of the other houses. So while its extremely unlikely I wouldn't count it out yet.

Wicked is flying back to Chicago next year! It's been 3+ years since the shows most recent engagement, it was in Peoria this past November though. This is also the first time the 2NT will be in Chicago. I hope the cast will still include Isabel Keating, Jessica Vosk and Andy Mientus by the time it's here, I'm not keeping my hopes up though. https://twitter.com/broadwaychicago/status/821394489428377601

I think that is perhaps the best season Baltimore has ever had. Most shows usually bypass the Hippodrome for the Kennedy Center, but this is a remarkable slate!

^^Looking at Subscriptions right now. Sucks Love Never Dies is the first one. Had a gut feeling Lion King was going to be in it. I can't wait for An American in Paris!

I think given the commercial appeal of the property, as well as the fact that the most recent Broadway production won the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical, a tour definitely seemed likely.

New Orleans:

Escape to Margaritaville

The King and I

White Christmas

An American in Paris

The Color Purple

The Phantom of the Opera (season option)

Rent 20th Anniversary Tour

Waitress

and Hamilton in 2018-2019!

Honestly, this is one of the best seasons New Orleans has had in some time. Aside from Escape to Margaritaville, I'm looking forward to all of these shows (and please let the Phantom and Christine be able to sing this time around).

Since the '18'-'19' touring season was already mentioned with some speculations, I wonder if DT is gonna try to put up a Frozen tour as quick as they can after it opens next year since it's such an obvious sell that they even CAN put it up that fast...or at the very least, put it up quicker than they did the Aladdin tour. I mean, it's been running three years and it's tour is only just now getting started this year.

I asked Rob McClure at stage door of Something Rotten before it closed if it was coming to Philly on tour and he said it would but not until after the year mark. Kimmel Center hasn't announced their season yet and won't for at least another few months.

They will play Philly 2/27-3/4/2018.
