HELLO, DOLLY! Sets August 25 Closing Date; Bette Midler to Return July 17  Apr 20 2018, 01:23:18 AM
Any idea why this show is closing? It seems weird when it is still consistently grossing +1mil a week

Heathers to the West End  Apr 13 2018, 01:42:39 AM
Closing night the producer said that they hoped to transfer the show to Broadway at some point and remake the movie.

One of the writers on twitter said they were adding new songs. I’ll try to find the tweet.

Heathers is making its West End debut this summer. Apparently they have added new songs. Could they still be attempting to bring this show to Broadway?

If you could revive any Broadway flop?  Mar 29 2018, 10:08:18 PM
I would love a revival of Bonnie and Clyde with a revised Act 2.

Tuck Everlasting with better direction and a smaller ensemble

petition to rename Booth Theater after Lin Manuel miranda  Mar 21 2018, 09:18:05 PM
The theatre is named after Edward Booth not John Wilkes Booth. So no there is not a theatre named after an assassin on Broadway. Plus if they were going to rename a theatre it wouldn’t be after Lin Manuel Miranda. Yes he is incredible and his works will live on but he is in the middle of his career. He still has many more shows ahead of him. Lots of more deserving people out there at the moment.

Dear Evan Hansen Nominated for an Emmy  Mar 21 2018, 04:45:51 PM
The article says Ben Platt and the cast of Dear Evan Hansen. And your right, only Ben Platt and RBJ would be 3/4 of the way. No idea where my mind went.

Dear Evan Hansen Nominated for an Emmy  Mar 21 2018, 04:41:03 PM

If they win this award the entire cast will be 2/4 of the way to an EGOT. Has this ever happened to a show before, where the entire cast wins this many awards?

*Edit I now realize only RBJ and Ben Platt would be 3/4 of the way to an EGOT but that’s still pretty impressive

Concession Stands at Theatres  Mar 12 2018, 01:04:23 AM

Hi everyone

I am working on a project for a college course that I'm taking where we have to run our own theatre company. One part of the project is to plan out the budget for one season. We are supposed to think of all parts of the theatre and try to figure out where to make money to keep the theatre in the black. As part of the budget I am trying to figure out how much money is spent buying the projects for concessions and how much money is made off of it. I have read through

With a tour schedule like that it is definitely non-equity

This film critic gave zero F**** about the embargo  Dec 21 2017, 02:08:49 AM
I just got out of the theatre so I want to write my intial thoughts down before I sleep on it.

1. The movie is visually stunning. It was absolutely beautiful and I think they did an incredible job with it.
2. The movie was too short and focused on too many things. There wasn’t enough struggle in Barnum getting his circus up and running. I would have liked to see more focus on that.
3. The score was incredible. I personally loved the all songs and genuinely hope This is Me is nom

Who played who in the Greatest Showman readings?  Dec 20 2017, 02:00:11 AM
Wow just think how killer of a cast that would be on Broadway. I’m gonna need this show adapted ASAP.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 12/10/17  Dec 12 2017, 01:26:36 AM
OOTI made 69% of its gross potential this week. It’s doing fine, and probably well above the red. It can’t be that expensive of a show to run.

Way to early 2018 Tony Awards predictions!  Dec 8 2017, 02:59:54 AM
I assume Frozens score will be eligible, a ton of new material is in place in the show, plus they don’t use all of the music from the movie. I believe 7 out of the 20ish songs in the musical are also in the movie.

Hugh Jackman return to Broadway  Dec 6 2017, 08:02:25 PM
I wouldn’t be surprised in The Greatest Showman gets adapted for Broadway and Jackman leads the production
