2019-2020 Touring Season Jan 18

The 5th Ave in Seattle just announced that Once on this Island will be playing a two week engagement so I guess the tour is actually happening!
It says here itll tour. But lets hope its an equity tour!"
just because tours are announced doesn’t mean they will happen. It’s usally a ploy to get road voters to vote for shows at the Tonys. Take Groun
Adam Pascal joining Pretty Woman... for one week?!? Dec 18

.....why? There is literally no point for him joining for a week unless they are planning on him taking over for Karl when he’s done?

I just got images in my head of high schools doing King Kong with horrible looking Kong puppets."
That’d be a version of King Kong I’d pay to see

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND CLOSING JANUARY Nov 27

Sad this show is closing because it’s such a beautiful production but it was time. It definitely has had an incredible run and can’t be too disappointed with its Tony award. I know it’s unlikely but I really do hope this show tours. I know they have an LA date announced but so did Spring Awakening...
Why did it close? Nov 14

The main reason is people weren’t buying tickets.
Marketing for the show was a mess, the direction of the show was a mess, the reviews (except the NYT if I remember correctly) were pans. I think the show has some beautiful moments and could work but needed to be scaled way back

I mean, to be fair, they could be doing a New York workshop because they want to keep improving the show. I think it got good reviews but not raves so why not try to make it even better
If she sings that style again I wouldn’t mind her in the Wicked movie
Roles for King Kong? Oct 15

I’ve heard Kong is going into Wicked after Jessica Vosk. Can you imagine his defying gravity?!

I don’t know if it’s even possible but people have mentioned The King Kong puppet potentially getting nominated. Doubt that could even happen but it would be cool to see

To be fair, Arena Stage has less tickets to sell and Anything Goes is better sell for the older crowds who tend to go see shows. Beetle juices marketing has been about how raunchy it is. I feel like that may scare a lot of people away
Call_me_jorge said: "Maybe they’ll bring back Wayne Brady and Brendon Urie?"
Brendon Urie is busy touring this fall in Asia and then across America in February and March so that doesn’t seem likely. I do hope they bring some other big names though!
Have you seen any Cirque show recently?? Sep 9

I was just at Volta and loved what I was able to see if it. Unfortunately due to a malfunction of the set our show was cancelled only 20 minutes. Hope to see before it moves on to another city
