I have heard from several people who have worked with her in shows and in concerts that she is absolute b**** to fellow actors.

Genius lasts longer than beauty.

She's always seemed rather generic and overrated to me.  Not quite enough star power to really truly break through.

@BroadwayBound, I've heard that as well.. going as far as giving daily vocal notes and her opinions on how the material should be performed to her castmates.

OMG thats the WORST! but acting is really hard and sometimes its hard to get everybody on the same page. She does have a great voice though!

Having a great voice is only a part of the equation in casting and many a great voice has not resulted in a  successful musical theatre career. Traditionally acting has not been as big a deal in opera, where the voice rules, but no one wants a voice in musical theatre that doesn't seem able to sell it as anything else.

I don't know any specifics here. but it is certainly true that people who are hard to work with, unless they are superstars, often don't get cast (and vice versa). If you put yourself in the position of a director who is going to have to spend a couple of months rehearsing with someone, or a producer who is going to have to deal constantly with a PITA, it becomes clear why some people don't get cast a lot.

Didn't you just answer the whole point of your own thread there? Seems like a long path to get here.

But it's time well spent if you're bored, crave attention and truly, truly have no more productive use for your time.

as i said, i was speaking generally not specifically, but sometimes a person can act well but doesn't take notes and make adjustments well. That's why directors give adjustments to actors even when they just did great work in an audition-to see how well they take them.

People on this thread have already given you plenty of reasonable suggestions. Are you really going to refuse to let this thread die until Christiane comes on herself and answers you?

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

I love Christiane Noll - I'm always sad that she doesn't do more; but like everyone else, I think she prefers doing concerts/has a family. I thought after the Ragtime revival, she would begin doing more, but alas. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though!

Philly you really do need to get out more--sleep around, experience life and not just masturbate every time you see your puerile words in print.

That would drive me crazy... Most of the time I really like her work (I *loved* her in RAGTIME and I listen to her albums pretty frequently) but... her performances of the songs from Bridges of Madison County with the Iowa Symphony not-too-long ago were, for me, very disappointing to say the least.  Noll and Hugh Panaro seemed like great choices...
