Another classic episode last night.  Despite her craziness, I was kinda happy that Debbie got exiled to luxury.

During tribal, I was very shocked that Tai didn't use one of his idols.  Guess there was a lot of campaigning that wasn't shown.

It's that stupid creative editing to manipulate the audience that I truly hate.  Clearly, they (everyone minus Sandra and Jeff) orchestrated a show to blindside Sandra that the producers didn't want us to see to make it look like a more questionable tribal.  There was no way all that went down spontaneously and led to that vote with Tai not playing either one of his idols.  I'm going to miss Sandra, but I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did.  When they voted out Caleb, I was wondering if they were really playing this game.

I'm speechless and sickened.

There is NO excuse for Varner to have done that.  A game is a game.  Zeke's life is so much more than a game.

Zeke is amazing with the way he handled it.

I never want to see Varner again.  What a piece of $&@!

But in the end - such support and beauty.

Maybe some fan watching the episode will feel hope.   May that always be Zeke's beautiful legacy.

Yikes, that was intense... Felt so bad for Zeke.

Thanks for posting those links, haterobics.

Zeke's article in the Hollywood Reporter was very moving.  What a brave man - I believe he will make a difference in young lives now that his personal story has been told.

But, it should have been told by him on his own terms.

Just watched it last night.  Varner remains the leopard that can't change his spots.  If he were the activist he claimed to be in his pathetic backpedaling, he would never have considered outing Zeke in the first place.  That was vile and the sh*tstorm he'll be facing when he returns home is going to be rough.  Lucky for him, he lives in NC where the state is attempting to legislate bigotry, anyway.

Kudos to Probst for how he handled it and calling out Varner on his BS.  Ending with "we don't even need a vote" was perfect.  Love the article from Hannah.  It's too bad she's not playing again this season.  I thought the spot was wasted on Varner in the first place.

A rather dull episode by comparison.  Was rather surprised by the negativity towards Zeke from the Blonde Brigade (Andrea and Sierra).  And why has Hali been such a target?  She was never really a "game changer" to begin with and the only things she has done this season were calling stuff out at tribal because she knew she was on the chopping block.  And I didn't think Debbie could get any more annoying, but I'll give her all the acknowledgment, credit and recognition she demands 24/7 for achieving Phillip levels of irritation.  I'm sure her stealth training for the Navy Seals auxiliary and her PhD in String Art combined with her Honorary Lithuanian Deputy Ambassadorship came in handy for ousting Ozzy,  BRAVA for making the obvious move.  I'll admit, I think it was nuts that he wasn't the first and most obvious target from the whole tribe post-merge, but the Blonde Brigade really seem to be on some weird ANTI agenda that I can't quite figure.  I won't miss Ozzy one bit, so a big slow clap for Debbie.  Glad she used up her magic power already.

^ Love it.

I actually liked Ozzy (I know I'm in the minority), and am sorry to see him go.  Especially at the hands of Debbie.  What a crack-pot!

I just wish the editors would stop blindsiding the audience and allow us to follow the narrative that leads to tribal.  It's one thing to create an element of drama and suspense, but it's something else entirely when it's obvious that massive chunks of plot are deliberately cut in order to do so, creating an illogical disconnect.  At times, I almost feel like they dropped an entire episode in order to manufacture the suspense.  I can only assume the turnaround must be fairly tight because it seems they are really cutting corners (no pun intended) in editing and continuity.

Nope, they shot last season and this one back to back, as Zeke went from one season to the next almost immediately. When Varner outed Zeke, he said he had to keep quiet about it until now, even though it happened 10 months ago, so...

That said, I think their goal is also to blindside the audience just like they do the players. So, it's intentional.

The editing has been all about the blindside for the past three seasons.  Regardless, it's still the best show on television. Oh, and, buh bye Debbie.  Watching the "Olympic gymnist" crawl across the balance beam was everything.

Right?!

I'd love to see a fact-check on her stories.  Are they outright lies?  It's absurd and disturbing.  But hilarious.

I'm really beginning to like and admire Sarah.  I haven't paid much attention to her until the last couple of episodes, but I like her strength, her honesty and her kindness.  She may have become the person I'm rooting for to win.

I'm warming up to riding the Sarah train also.  I like that she carefully thought about all of her errors during her previous season and has a plan to make this season different.   And, having that vote steal can't hurt!

That said, I think their goal is also to blindside the audience just like they do the players. So, it's intentional.

But it doesn't work that way since we're seeing confessionals and conversations on all sides all the time EXCEPT for the one that has to do with the vote.  It's not the same sort of blindside at all.  This week worked well because we knew how it had been narrowed down without revealing the final outcome.  But had to vote shifted to Brad, for example, and we never get anything that really leads in that direction at all, it makes watching the show much more difficult.  It makes me feel very alienated and manipulated by the creators, rather than being a part of the experience, which is what always drew me into the show and kept me watching.

That being said, so glad that delusional smug bitch is out.  Too bad she's on the jury cuz I do NOT feel like looking at her the rest of the season.  Horrible woman.  She'll probably get appointed a cabinet position in the White House.  She's just their type and it's not like they're going to check her credentials or anything.

I hate that she's on the jury.  Hate.

Her blurred-out finger gesture last night solidified how much I despise her.  I'm sure she'll have some comment about it to backtrack that she did it. . .

Don't really have much else to say about last night.

I'm going to be vague, so I don't give away anything.  I don't understand why Michaela reacted the way she did...when she voted the way she did.  If it was an act, she's a terrific actress.

Michaela posted that her strong reaction was because she only had two friends on the island and she had just voted one of them out.  She chose the alliance over the friend.

Well, she voted for him two times prior.  Totaling 3.  I know it's a game....but how does she treat the people she dislikes, if that is how she treats her "friends"?

Nah...don't care enough to make the extra effort.  I'm glad she voted Zeke out.  Although I am sorry for him about the outing, I didn't care for the way he played the game.

Watched the final over the weekend.  Some real interesting events occurred over the season with Cirie's elimination probably being the SUCKIEST elimination in Survivor history.  That girl just cannot seem to catch a break.  I hope she's made a million in work and endorsements as a result of the show because she deserves it, hands down.  As for the actual finale...meh.  It was a no-brainer two of the biggest egomaniacs on the show would vote for Culpepper to win (Debbie and Ozzy, though Sierra seemed to for him more out of bitterness than logic) and the contestants who could basically add two and two voted for Sarah.  And kudos for Troy for effectively bowing out gracefully.  It was all over when Sarah mentioned spotting the hidden advantage clue next to Michaela's foot and managed to grab it without anyone noticing.  And Michaela's comments at the final tribal just reiterated why I love that girl.  She can be salty, but she is often fair and rational, has heart and I admire the sh*t out of that girl.  She's more intelligent and admirable than most people I know who are twice her age.

I hope that's the last we see of Debbie and Varner.
