Mixed Blood's take on Pulitzer-finalist Rajiv Joseph's acclaimed play pairs two of country's top Deaf actresses, Alexandria Wailes and Nicole Zapko, in a tale of friends who use scars, injuries and calamity to mark the miles of their relationship. Imaginative and hilarious, Gruesome Playground Injuries explores why people hurt themselves to gain another's love, and the cumulative effect of damages and demands. This revelatory production blends American Sign Language with projected super-titles in an evocative journey to the core of love.
