Riverside Center for the Performing Arts proudly presents the Pulitzer Prize-winning and Tony Award winning musical Next to Normal, running July 2 through August 3, 2025. This bold, emotionally charged rock musical takes center stage in a powerful production that’s as heart-wrenching as it is unmissable. With a thrilling contemporary score by Tom Kitt and a fearless book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, this show has captivated audiences of all ages for over a decade. Whether you grew up on classic Broadway, 90s alternative rock, or today’s musical storytelling, Next to Normal speaks across generations with its timely themes, unforgettable music, and deeply personal storytelling. This powerful and passionate cast is led by Adrianne Hick. Adrianne returns to our Riverside stage to star as Diana Goodman. Adrianne captivated our hearts in Bright Star, Ragtime, and most recently in Bridges of Madison County alongside her husband Andrew Foote. Andrew is returning to our stage as well to play her on stage husband, Dan Goodman. Making her Riverside debut is Madison Cox as Natalie Goodman, and Mason Blaine returns to our stage as Gabe Goodman. Ben Ribler is making his Riverside debut as Henry, and Adian Chapman returns to our stage as Dr. Madden. The creative team is led by CEO & Producing Artistic Director, Patrick A’Hearn, Director Penny Ayn Maas, and Associate Producing Artistic Director and Music Director Carson Eubank. The design team includes Scenic Designer Christian Fleming, Lighting Designer Weston Corey, Sound Designer Cheyenne Tenda, Projection Designer Duncan Scarpa-Friedman, and Costume Designer Erin Welsh.
