CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG Will Fly Into Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre

Coming to The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre this spring is the area's regional theatre premiere production of the high-flying musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The family friendly production, based on the classic film, was announced as part of the theatre's 2017 Mainstage Season last year by producers. The musical will take flight at the area's only year-round producing theatre beginning April 7th.

Academic Theatre and Interpreter Preparation Program Bring ROMEO AND JULIET to the Stage

As part of Performing Arts at the Community College of Baltimore County's "A Year of Shakespeare," Academic Theatre at CCBC Catonsville and the Interpreter Preparation Program are teaming to present "Romeo and Juliet" in both spoken English and American Sign Language.  Performances will be held March 23 at 11:10 a.m., March 24 and 25 at 8 p.m., March 26 at 3 p.m., and March 27 at 10 a.m. in the Center for the Arts Theatre at CCBC Catonsville, 800 S. Rolling Road. Tickets are available from the CCBC Box Office (443-840-2787) for $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors, students, CCBC faculty, staff and alumni and free to students with current CCBC IDs.

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory Presents Original Pronunciation Production of ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory (BSF), working closely with world-renowned dialect and original pronunciation (OP) expert Paul Meier, will open Antony and Cleopatra, March 31 through April 23 at The Great Hall at St. Mary's. BSF's presentation will be the very first time that modern audiences will be able to hear Antony and Cleopatra spoken the way Shakespeare's audiences would have heard it when it was first performed in the early 1600s.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents a grown up's prequel to Peter Pan, where a dozen actors play more than 100 unforgettable characters. An apprentice starcatcher (13 year-old Molly Aster) takes to the high seas with a trunk full of magic 'starstuff' and three orphan boys while being pursued by a boat-load of pirates. Peter and the Starcatcher was written by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Addams Family) with music by Wayne Barker. This adaptation is based on the 2006 novel of the same name by humorist Dave Barry and suspense writer Ridley Pearson.

That's the premise of Dundalk Community Theatre's delightful production of I HATE HAMLET. For lovers of Shakespeare, you can't go wrong with seeing this play. Contrary to its title, the show is basically a love letter to the Bard.
