One Yellow Rabbit (OYR) is thrilled to present Verb Theatre's bliss (the birthday party play), written by and starring Jamie Dunsdon. OYR audiences will remember this production as one of the stand-out, sold-out hits from the 2020 High Performance Rodeo. The show will run October 28 - November 7, 2020 in the Big Secret Theatre at Arts Commons.

This year, instead of performing in one location, Theatre Calgary is taking their show across the city with the aptly named: 'Shakespeare on the Go'. Throughout the month of August, a rotating cast of three actors are set to perform in various locations, including The Public Library, Heritage Park, and Lougheed House.

Theatre Calgary (which is known for its cross-country collaboration and interpretations of old and new plays and musicals) jumped into the digital scene fairly quickly following the ending of in-person performances.

Alberta Theatre Projects is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Darcy Evans, Executive and Artistic Director. Evans died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Evans had been battling cancer since March, and he unfortunately lost this fight yesterday afternoon.

Executive and Artistic Director Darcy Evans announced today that Alberta Theatre Projects has made the decision to postpone its 2020-21 Season, which had been set to run from September to May in the Martha Cohen Theatre. Programming will move to the 2021-22 Season.

Alberta Theatre Projects and The Grand Theatre are announcing that Cabaret will unfortunately no longer be taking place in the Martha Cohen Theatre as originally planned from April 14 to May 2, 2021. This is due to The Grand Theatre postponing the entire tour of their acclaimed production for the upcoming Canadian theatre season, including performances originally scheduled to conclude Alberta Theatre Projects' 2020-2021 season.

Written by Calgary's own Doug Curtis, the production is directed by Andy Curtis and features fellow ensemble members Duval Lang, Tyrell Crews, Christopher Hunt, and Calgary musician, Chantal Vitalis.
