Yesterday, June 22, Sean Hayes, Kristin Chenoweth, Tony Goldwyn, Katie Finneran and Dick Latessa hosted a special 'Talk Back' and Q&A sessions as well as a CD signing in celebration of the new Broadway cast recording of Promises, Promises (available now via online and retail outlets. Sherie Rene Scott, star and creator of Everyday Rapture, along with her co-creator Dick Scanlan and co-stars Betsy Wolfe, Eamon Foley and Lindsay Mendez celebrated the release of the Everyday Rapture Cast Album (out by Ghostlight Records) with a CD signing for fans at the American Airlines Theatre.

Last night, on June 14, The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director; Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) presented a rare concert performance of Alan J. Lerner and Frederick Loewe's 'Brigadoon' on Broadway for its 2010 Annual Benefit Gala.

Last night, on June 13, the 2010 Tony Awards honored the best of Broadway in the 2009-2010 season. MEMPHIS was the big winner of the night in the musical category, earning honors for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, and Best Orchestrations. Last night, June 13, the 64th Annual Tony Awards were held at Radio City Musical Hall. The Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS, Sunday, June 13th, 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay). On the eve of the Tonys, at the InterContinental New York Barclay, the 2010 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre and the 2010 Special Tony Award Recipients were honored.

This week, June 8, RACE introduced its new cast to the press. Written and directed by David Mamet, RACE recouped early in the spring and is the longest running play of the season. BroadwayWorld met up with the new crew at Sardi's for the photo op.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and one of the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 61st Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Tuesday, May 18th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Ms. Taymor's award was presented to her by Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren, who stars in Taymor's soon-to-be-released film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatricals served as the Luncheon Chair. Disney Theatricals and Robert Boyett were the benefactors for New Dramatists 61st Annual Spring Luncheon.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) opened the American premiere of Olivier Award nominee Moira Buffini's award-winning play, GABRIEL, this week on May 13, which marks the final main stage production of Atlantic's 2009-2010 season. Broadway star-turned country singer Laura Bell Bundy has been making the promo rounds of late for her newly released album 'Achin' and Shakin.' Yesterday, the star made her debut on Chelsea Lately and performed live at the Highline Ballroom in New York City, all after announcing the CMT Award nominations on People.com - earning her own nomination for Breakthrough Video of the Year for her first single, 'Giddy On Up.' Hosted by the Off-Broadway League, the live show was co-hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth and featured performances by Alan Menken, STOMP, Seth Rudetsky, Edward Watts of The Fanasticks and LaChanze. Yesterday, May 2, Primary Stages concluded its celebratory 25th Anniversary Season with a special celebrity benefit stage reading performance of Godfather IV written by Emmy Award-winner Tom Fontana ('St. Elsewhere,' 'OZ'), with original music by Stephen Elkins. The reading was a collaborative effort between Primary Stages and the Writers Guild of America, East Foundation, for which Fontana is Foundation president. Proceeds from the reading will benefit both organizations. BroadwayWorld was there to capture the event.
