MTV today announced that the Jonas Brothers will perform at the 2019 VMAs with a special remote performance from an iconic location along the New Jersey shoreline, presented by the all-new 2020 Toyota Corolla. MTV, the global youth brand, will bring the hit-making group to the VMAs for the first time as a group in more than 10 years.

The Disney+ original series “Love, Simon” begins production this month in Los Angeles with up-and-coming actor Michael Cimino (“Annabelle Comes Home,” “Training Day”) in the lead role of Victor. The half-hour series from 20th Century Fox Television returns to the world of the 2018 groundbreaking hit movie, “Love, Simon.”

E! Entertainment will make a big splash in the tiny state of Rhode Island with the half-hour reality sitcom 'Meet the Frasers,' produced by MGM's Evolution Media, premiering in 2020. Following Rhode Island's local celebrity couple, 28-year-old psychic medium Matt Fraser and his pageant queen girlfriend, 21-year-old Alexa Papigiotis, the docu-series will showcase their lives, careers, and their very involved extended families. Today, BET Networks announced the production of a new original movie 'SACRIFICE' starring Paula Patton ('Hitch,' 'Precious'). 'SACRIFICE' takes place in Los Angeles following Daniella Hernandez, played by Patton, a highly sought after entertainment lawyer. The legal thriller tracks Daniella as she navigates the nefarious lives of her rich and famous clients. Daniella has a reputation that proves problematic to LA Law enforcement, forcing her to be at odds with her sorority sister turned nemesis District Attorney Beverly Rucker. In an attempt to protect her often unscrupulous clients, Daniella enlists the services of her resourceful assistant and a young ex-hacker and tech genius. 'SACRIFICE' is executive produced, written, and directed by Chris Stokes. Marques Houston also serves as the film's co-executive producer for Footage Films. Principal photography for 'SACRIFICE' took place in New Orleans. 'SACRIFICE' will premiere on BET's new streaming service BET+ in 2020.

FOX has released the first trailer for season three of its hit drama 9-1-1. Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear reimagine the procedural drama with 9-1-1, exploring the high-pressure experiences of police officers, firefighters and dispatchers who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.

Sydney Park, Théodore Pellerin, Asjha Cooper, Dale Whibley, Jesse LaTourette, Burkely Duffield and Diego Josef star in the Netflix horror film THERE'S SOMEONE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE, based on the book by Stephanie Perkins with a screenplay from Henry Gayden.

Garden Theatre's new Interactive Movie series will continue on September 15 with a screening of Hocus Pocus. This interactive screening of the 1993 film will feature pre-show trivia, a costume contest, in-show activities, and a little bit of theatre magic. The Sanderson Sisters will make a special visit to judge the costume contest, and trivia will be hosted by Aaron Wallace, author of Hocus Pocus in Focus: The Thinking Fan's Guide to Disney's Halloween Classic. Pre-show entertainment will begin at 6:45 pm, and the movie will begin at 7:30 pm. 

For the fourth straight week, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has announced ten more artists for their 2019 festival which takes place in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on October 4-6. As with past lineup reveals, fans were treated to a sneak-peek audio clip of the soon-to-be-announced artists on HSB's social media accounts earlier this week. Upon hearing what HSB calls the weekly “artist medley,” fans hypothesized in the comment section about who might be added to the lineup.

ESPN will debut the next documentary in the Peabody and Emmy award-winning 30 for 30 series with “Rodman: For Better or Worse” the unfettered and definitive look at the life and career of Dennis Rodman. The film, directed by Emmy-winning director Todd Kapostasy, will premiere on Tuesday, September 10, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.

 The Paley Center for Media today announced that it will celebrate some of the greatest comedic moments and legends in television at this year's The Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television's Comedy Legends. The event will take place on November 21 at 6:30pm at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

This November, a triple-bill of current Blue Note artists—Kandace Springs, James Francies, and the James Carter Organ Trio—will embark on a U.S. tour of performing arts centers and theaters around the country in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Blue Note Records. Each artist will perform a set of their own music followed by a finale with all the musicians coming together to perform a classic Blue Note tune.
