The Television Academy has updated the list of this year's Emmy nominations following producer credit vetting, and THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN's star, James Corden, is now the most nominated performer/producer/writer for the 71st Emmy Awards with seven nominations, while executive producer Ben Winston leads all individual nominations with eight. THE LATE LATE SHOW Executive Producer Rob Crabbe also received five nominations.

Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS and WTTW Chicago announced PREHISTORIC ROAD TRIP, a new three-part natural history series that combines science, culture and history and brings viewers along for an unforgettable expedition through hundreds of millions of years of history. PREHISTORIC ROAD TRIP is hosted by popular YouTube personality Emily Graslie, Chief Curiosity Correspondent at the Field Museum. The adventure begins on PBS stations around the country in summer 2020.

From the Neighborhood of Make-Believe to neighborhoods across the U.S., a new season of DANIEL TIGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD, the top-rated, Emmy-winning PBS KIDS series from Fred Rogers Productions, will premiere next summer. Featuring 20 engaging episodes, including a half-hour special, Season 5 of the hit series will address key universal themes for preschoolers and their parents, including managing sibling rivalry, maintaining calm at mealtimes, missing loved ones, growing up, coping with accidents, and more through the show's hallmark musical strategies. In addition, three of the series' most popular strategies will be revisited through brand-new stories. Plus, Daniel will get to meet fun new neighbors who are sure to become viewer favorites, too.

 Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS and American Experience announced “W,” a two-part biography on the life and presidency of George W. Bush. The newest production in the American Experience Peabody Award-winning collection The Presidents, “W” features interviews with historians, journalists and several members of the president's inner circle, including chiefs of staff Andy Card and Josh Bolten, speechwriter David Frum, press secretary Ari Fleischer and others. Written, directed and produced by Barak Goodman and executive produced by Mark Samels, the film will premiere in the spring of 2020 on PBS. Goodman previously directed the highly-acclaimed Clinton, also part of The Presidents collection, and is the writer, producer and director of American Experience “Woodstock: Three Days that Defined a Generation,” premiering August 6, 2019 on PBS.

Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS and WETA announced ASIAN AMERICANS, a new five-part documentary series currently in production and expected to broadcast in May 2020 on PBS.  The series examines what the 2010 U.S. Census identifies as the fastest growing racial/ethnic group in the United States. Told through individual lives and personal histories, ASIAN AMERICANS explores the impact of this group on the country's past, present, and future.

 Today at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, PBS announced that it has secured carriage for its member stations on YouTube TV's live TV and on-demand subscription service. Launching later this year, YouTube TV will livestream all PBS member stations that choose to participate.

 Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS and THIRTEEN announced a new documentary about the EGOT-winning entertainer Rita Moreno, slated to premiere in 2020. AMERICAN MASTERS a?oeRita Moreno: The Girl Who Decided to Go For Ita?? (w.t.) is a partnership between THIRTEEN's AMERICAN MASTERS series and Norman Lear's Act III Productions in association with Maramara and executive producer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Bread Winners Association recording artist Kevin Gates has announced a massive nationwide headline tour in support of his highly-anticipated new album I'M HIM, set to arrive later this year. The I'M HIM TOUR sees the multi-platinum artist with over 5 billion streams under his belt artist taking on his largest venues to date. Shows will get underway in Chicago, IL at The Patio Theatre on October 12, and continue across the U.S. with a finale show in Seattle, WA at the WaMu Theatre.

Cristin Milioti is set to star in HBO Max's new series Made for Love, according to Deadline. The half-hour series is an adaptation of Alissa Nutting's tragicomic novel of the same name.

FX has released a new teaser for American Horror Story: 1984, the upcoming ninth season of Ryan Murphy's hit horror anthology series.

Disney's The Lion King won the box office for a second weekend with an estimated $75.5 million. The film dipped -60.6% in its sophomore weekend as the film's domestic total now stands over $351 million. Internationally, The Lion King added another $142.8 million as its overseas total now stands at $611.9 million for a global total reaching $962.7 million. 

Film at Lincoln Center announces Martin Scorsese's The Irishman as Opening Night of the 57th New York Film Festival (September 27 – October 13), making its World Premiere at Alice Tully Hall on Friday, September 27, 2019. The Irishman will be released in select theaters and on Netflix later this year.
