In “The Prom”, when a high school student wants to take her girlfriend to prom, but is met with resistance by the school and community, four eccentric Broadway actors come to town to save the day.  Kürt Norby plays one of those well-meaning, if misguided, artists as Broadway veteran Barry Glickman.  Kürt talks about bringing this character and this show to life at San Diego Musical Theatre through June 1st.

Agatha Christie’s famous Hercule Poirot is back on the North Coast Rep stage, this time in the world premiere “Peril in the Alps”, a sequel to ‘Murder on the Links” from two years ago.  This is a lighthearted, quick, comic murder mystery and is running through May 25th.

Erica Marie Weisz brings her one-woman show “I Can Cook, Too!” to New Village Arts for a limited run May 11th - 26th.  In this interview, Weisz discusses creating this cabaret, a delicious mix of Broadway showtunes, jazz standards, cooking tips, and a live band.

“3 Summers of Lincoln” at the La Jolla Playhouse brings you a vibrant musical about a friendship between President Lincoln and Frederick Douglass that changed the course of American history. 

When was the last time you thought about the Constitution?  I mean really thought about it and how it impacts your life?  Probably not that often, but that will change after seeing North Coast Rep’s stellar production of ‘What The Constitution Means To Me,” which is playing through March 30th.

The world premiere of “The Dark Heart of Dooley Stevens,” written by Backyard Renaissance Artistic Director Francis Gercke, will play through March 15th. This play is a mix of horror, drama, and things that may be hard to explain.

“We Are Continuous” is an intimate play with an unusual recurring monologue and some in-scene format. Luckily, this production is very well-cast with Marti Gobel, Elliott Sagay, and Eli Wood and is excellently directed by Kian-Kline-Chilton. “We Are Continuous” is playing at Diversionary Theatre through March 9th.

It’s not unusual to talk to your pets, though usually, when they start to talk back, it’s a cause for concern.  Instead, “Alabaster,” playing at OnStage Playhouse, uses Weezy the goat, who does talk back to her owner, to add a sweet touch of magical realism to this play about love, loneliness, and how to move forward after surviving a trauma. Alabaster is playing through March 2nd.
