The award-winning animated Disney film Beauty and the Beast will come to life in a fun-filled version of the classic fairytale for a limited season of six shows at The National Theatre in St Kilda from 8-10 July, 2021. Presented by the Young Australian Broadway Chorus (YABC).Inspired by the nine-time Tony-nominated original Broadway production and Academy award-winning motion picture, Disney Beauty and the Beast Jr will showcase a 70 strong cast of talented young performers. The show will feature popular songs like Be Our Guest, Gaston and Beauty and the Beast written by Alan Menken. In true YABC style, this family-friendly, 70-minute show will deliver a spectacular theatrical experience on the grand scale owing to the large cast and fabulous costumes. Great value for money and fun for all ages!Disney Beauty and the Beast Jr tells the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed back into a Prince. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
