An extraordinary and rare celebration of one of the worlds most successful musical theatre collaborationsAlain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schnberg will travel to Australia together in September for the first time in 25 years for the Australian premiere of the concert spectacular Do You Hear The People Sing? which celebrates their iconic musicals including Les Misrables and Miss Saigon. Presented at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne from 27-28 September, it will feature a 24 piece orchestra, 12 person choir and the worlds greatest musical theatre stars performing hit songs from the duos record-breaking musicals including Les Misrables and Miss Saigon. and their shows Martin Guerre, The Pirate Queen and La Rvolution Franaise. Do You Hear The People Sing? is the only concert ever to be authorised by Boublil and Schnberg and is the definitive showcase of their work. It will include I Dreamed A Dream, Do You Hear The People Sing?, On My Own, One Day More, The American Dream, Bui Doi, Woman and Bring Him Home, brought to life by leading international stars from the Boublil & Schnberg universe: Michael Ball OBE (UK) Britains leading musical theatre star who, among his many credits, played Marius in the original London production of Les Misrables, and reprised the role for the 10th anniversary concert. More recently, he starred as Javert in the acclaimed staged concert in the West End. John Owen-Jones (UK) the star of the London, Broadway and international productions of Les Misrables, as well as his record-breaking run as The Phantom of the Opera in London.Rachel Tucker (UK) recently starred in Come From Away on Broadway. She starred in the London premiere of Boublil & Schnbergs The Pirate Queen in 2020 and is renowned for her performance as Elphaba in Wicked in London and on Broadway.Bobby Fox (Aus) the popular star of the Australian production of Jersey Boys.David Harris (Aus) who has performed leading roles in Miss Saigon, Wicked and Legally Blonde, and is currently starring in the US tour of Moulin Rouge.Sooha Kim (Korea) Korean star of Aida, Rent and Hadestown, who starred as Kim in the UK and Japanese tours of Miss Saigon.Suzie Mathers (Aus) star of international productions of Wicked and Mamma Mia!.Marie Zamora (France) the French star of Kiss Me Kate and Barnum, and starred as Cosette in the Paris production of Les Misrables.It is an enormous pleasure for us, in collaboration with Enda Markey, to bring the concert we conceived to Australia following the warmth of its reception in the USA and in Asia. It is especially thrilling for us to see the concert play in two of Australias most iconic venues Hamer Hall and Sydney Opera Houses newly refurbished Concert Hall, said Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schnberg. This new version, especially created for Australian audiences, traces the history of our 50-year collaboration, showcasing a wide selection of well-known songs from our shows as well as a journey of discovery through how some of the songs were written, rewritten or reinvented.Do You Hear The People Sing? has been developed over a decade by Boublil and Schnberg in collaboration with producer Enda Markey for its Australasian tour. It has previously been staged in China, Taiwan (starring Michael Ball and David Harris), the Philippines and across the USA including at Carnegie Hall (starring Marie Zamora). Newly imagined for its Australian tour, it reinvigorates Boublil and Schnbergs timeless music as a multi-layered concert spectacular helmed by Guy Simpson (Conductor) and Andrew Pole (Director). In addition to all the best-known songs, the concert features music from Boublil and Schnbergs complete oeuvre; Martin Guerre, The Pirate Queen and their very first musical together, La Rvolution Franaise.

Darbianna Dinsmore

Darbianna Dinsmore was born in Texas and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BFA in acting. She played many notable roles (predominantly period pieces) such as Elvira in Blithe Spirit, and Isabella in The Tooth Puller. She specialized in Commedia dell’arte in both the US and Siena, Italy at Le Piccolo Theatre de Sienna. In Los Angeles she has been in numerous Shakespeare shows produced by Pints & Players where she played Juliet, Claudio, and Lady MacDuff. Her other Hollywood Fringe Festival experience includes stage managing/light designing the award-winning show Ain’t That America. She is currently performing as the star of the award-winning one-woman show She Stoops to Scandal 2021-2022.

Chambers Stevens

Playwright
Chambers Stevens (Actor/Playwright/Director) has a massive Prince Record Collection. He has been clogging since before he can walk and is still as fast as the wind. He and his son, Twain have played in almost 200 different parks in Los Angeles County. He has read every novel Mark Twain ever published. He still gets a tingling feeling every morning when he rolls over and looks at his wife. Oh and this year he has 6 plays opening in the Hollywood Fringe. Chambers Stevens has ten books in print. Besides being a successful author he is one of LA’s top acting coaches. Actors he has coached have appeared on every network as well as countless films and theatre productions. Chambers is a graduate of The Conservatory of Theater Arts at Webster University & the founder of The Nashville Shakespeare Festival now in its 30th year. As a television actor, Chambers starred in The Steve Spots, which received six Emmys and a George Peabody Award, Funnybones, which received an Emmy for “Outstanding Children’s Program”, and Geoscout, for which he received a personal Emmy nomination as “Outstanding Actor in a Children’s Series.” As a theater actor, Chambers has performed in over a hundred theater productions. He’s the recipient of the Geoffrey Award for his portrayal of Drew in Eastern Standard. He also received the prestigious Backstage Garland Award for his one-man show Desperate for Magic. As a playwright, he has won both the Ingram Fellowship and the Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Award. His play Biff and Charlie is published by Samuel French. Mother of Pearl is published by Dramatic Publishing and Desperate for Magic is published by Elderidge Publishing. Chambers latest play Twain and Shaw Do Lunch received its world premiere at the prestigious New Theatre in Miami. Chambers is married to film and television producer Betsy Sullenger. They have a 15-year-old son, Twain.


Megan Ford-Miller

Director/Production Designer
Megan Ford-Miller is a Director/Producer for both live theatre and film based in Los Angeles. Megan started attending a performing arts school in the 3rd grade and she has been in dozens of theater productions in her formative years. As an adult she focused on mixed media and photography and also used an art therapy career for children on the Autism Spectrum as a creative outlet. When her son, Reid Miller decided he wanted to get serious about his acting career she focused her energy on helping him. By supporting Reid, she circled back to the entertainment industry in which she started. Megan is involved in several theater productions every year; she also continues her work within the Autism community working with kids on the Spectrum here in Los Angeles. Megan is currently directing SHE STOOPS TO SCANDAL which premiered at the Hollywood Fringe in 2021 and continues its run in this year’s 2022 Fringe. SSTS is a regency period one woman show written by Chambers Stevens and starring Darbianna Dinsmore. She is also co-producing THE TOUGHEST MAN in CHICAGO alongside veteran Fringer Matthew Robinson written/performed by Mitchell Bisschop. She recently Produced and directed actor/writer George Steeves’s show LOVE AND SEX ON THE SPECTRUM at Hollywood Fringe 2021, the show also just completed its Off Broadway run at Frigid Festival 2022 in NYC and in CA. earning The Best of Solofest 2022 and now will head to London, and then the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Other notable credits are HOLLYWOODN’T the Hollywood casting couch scandals, and writer/comedian Stacy Dymalski’s one woman show A BIT MUCH both winning producer Encore Awards.
