Break of Day is the world premiere of Steve Rodgers' new Australian play, directed by Sarah Goodes and starring Kat Stewart as Pam, a nightshift worker in the rural town of Burra Creek who envisions a better life for her daughter Rae, played by Sherry-Lee Watson. The ensemble cast also includes Chum Ehelepola, Richard Piper, and newcomer Theo Clarke. Set against the backdrop of a town left behind by modern opportunity, the play explores the fierce, sacrificial love between a mother and daughter with humour, grit, and emotional depth.
