MEXODUS is a hip-hop musical that reveals a lesser-known historical journey of freedom, depicting the flight of enslaved people across the Rio Grande into Mexico. Written by Brian Quijada and Nygel D. Robinson, the production combines live-looped music and dynamic storytelling to explore the bond formed between a freedom seeker and an unlikely ally. Directed by David Mendizábal and featuring choreography by Tony Thomas, the show captures the emotional essence of resilience and connection in the face of adversity. This electrifying theatrical experience makes its Atlanta debut at the Alliance Theatre following its acclaimed Off-Broadway run.
