Detailing the final days of Dr. Vivian Bearing's battle with stage IV ovarian cancer, WIT is a poetic journey through the English professor's reflection on her life and the relationship between patient and healer.

The Woodruff Arts Center announces its third free Family Festival, which will take place on Feb. 14 from 1 - 4 p.m. as part of the Family Fun at TheWoodruff Arts Center initiative.  The free Family Festival will feature family-oriented programming led by the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and High Museum of Art, including live theatre performances, a read aloud and book giveaway, a sweetheart photo station with props for all ages, an Indian dance class, Nigerian dance performances, an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra family concert live simulcast and more, all for free! The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists.  Start Down, the 12th competition winner, will premiere on the Hertz Stage February 13 - March 6, 2016.  Opening night is February 18, 2016.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will kick off the New Year with a play that's sure to be the cure for the post-holiday doldrums. The hilarious comedy, Charley's Aunt, will take the stage January 7th through the 24th, 2016 at the Theatre's home, the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest Street, Roswell, GA. GET and Atlanta favorite David Crowe is in the directing chair to bring this time-tested comedy by Brandon Thomas to life. Says Crowe, 'At its heart Charley's Aunt is a very silly play about the very serious business of courtship. That's one of the reasons the play has been produced so much in the past hundred or so years. Falling in love sometimes requires us to bend and even break society's rules in order to live happily ever after.' This production is graciously sponsored by the Robert W. Hagan Family Foundation.

GET to Honor Memory of Peter Abreu

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will honor the late Peter M. Abreu with a memorial plaque at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center lobby on Thursday, January 7th at 7:15pm. A major contributor and friend to the Theatre, it was through the May P. and Francis L. Abreu Charitable Trust and The City of Roswell that the Arts Center has recently gone through a complete and ambitious acoustical renovation. By putting up the initial funding, Peter's legacy motivated the City of Roswell to then match that investment, and the plan to upgrade acoustics was put into place. The project was finished in time for GET's upcoming production of Charley's Aunt.
