The Young People's Chorus of New York City led by Artistic Director and Founder Francisco J. Núñez brightens the December holidays with concerts, television appearances, and recordings to give and enjoy. It all begins Wednesday, December 2, when the YPC choristers perform on both the local and national telecasts of this year's "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" at 7 p.m. on NBC-TV.

All YPC choral divisions, with singers ranging from 7 to 18 years of age, will perform in two winter concerts at the 92nd Street Y on December 13. The chorus also performs as part of the annual St. Patrick's Cathedral "A City Singing at Christmas" concert on December 17. The Young People's Chorus of New York City at Washington Heights (YPCWH), the first after-school community program of the Young People's Chorus of New York City, gives two holiday performances: at Fort George Presbyterian Church on December 5 and during the 105th annual reading of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" at The Church of The Intercession on December 20.

Additionally, YPC will be featured on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, December 18, and CNN's New Day on Friday, December 25.

Give the gift of music with YPC's newest recording Transient Glory III featuring YPC-commissioned works by John Corigliano, Paquito D'Rivera, Michael Gordon, Meredith Monk, Terry Riley, and Bora Yoon; and the CoolSide of Yuletide, an album of specially arranged holiday classics and new holiday songs.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City is internationally renowned not only for its artistic excellence and brilliant showmanship, but as a model for an inclusive society that is being replicated globally. Founded in 1988 by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, a MacArthur "genius" Fellow, this groundbreaking program harnesses the power of music to fulfill the potential of every child. Over 1,400 children ages 7 to 18 participate in YPC's after-school and in-school programs. YPC recently sang for Pope Francis on his first papal visit to the U.S. and returned home from Munich last month with a first-place win in the European Broadcasting Union's Let The Peoples Sing competition, the first time any American chorus has won a first prize in the competition's 54-year history. Among its many other awards is America's highest honor for youth programs, a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award.
