Signature Theatre just held its Annual Gala celebration last night, April 7, 2014 honoring 108th New York City mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and actor/playwright/director Ruben Santiago-Hudson. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from inside the gala below!
This year's gala paid tribute to two men who have made lasting impressions on the history, artistry, and physical home of Signature Theatre: Ruben Santiago-Hudson and Michael R. Bloomberg. Both honorees embody the spirit of community and partnership that for two decades has been at the core of the Signature mission to honor and celebrate the playwright. Ruben, who has been a friend to Signature both onstage (August Wilson's How I Learned What I Learned) and as a director (The Piano Lesson, My Children! My Africa!), has brought many meaningful works to life on Signature stages; and Signature Theatre wouldn't be in its home at The Pershing Square Signature Center without Mr. Bloomberg's leadership, generosity, and guidance.
