According to published reports, Tony Award Winning actress Laura Benanti's new NBC show, "The Playboy Club," has been cancelled by NBC after the third episode, which aired last night. In its place, NBC will feature repeats of 'Prime Suspect' until Octoer 31,  when 'Rock Center With Brian Williams' premieres.

From Academy Award-winning executive producer Brian Grazer, "The Playboy Club" was a provocative new drama about a time and place that challenged the social mores, where a visionary entrepreneur created an empire and an icon changed American culture.

Benanti was last seen on Broadway in WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, for which she received a Tony nomination and a Drama Desk Award, among others. She is a previous Tony winner for Gypsy.
