KINKY BOOTS Celebrates 1,000 Broadway Performances in Style Tonight

The Tony Award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS will celebrate its landmark 1,000th performance on Broadway tonight, August 26th, with a ticket giveaway and "fabulous footwear" contest for fans.

To pay homage to the show's now-iconic red boots, the first 50 people in line at the Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th St) wearing red shoes when the box office opens at 10:00 AM will receive a free pair of tickets to that evening's performance. Tony Award-winner Billy Porter will be on hand at 10:00 AM to pick the three most fabulous pairs of footwear, and winners will get to join the cast backstage after the evening performance for a celebratory toast and custom KINKY BOOTS cupcakes provided by Baked by Melissa.

"What better way to celebrate 1,000 performances on Broadway than with some fabulous footwear?" producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig commented. "The KINKY BOOTS fans are the greatest, and we know the results will be inventive and inspired!"

KINKY BOOTS opened on Broadway on April 4, 2013 and went on to win six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Now in its third smash year, KINKY BOOTS is also currently touring the country on its First National Tour, and recently opened a production in Toronto in June.
