Broadway Backwards, the annual event where gender doesn't matter but love does, made its virtual premiere earlier this week with special appeals from Chasten Buttigieg, Ariana DeBose, Debra Messing, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tony Shalhoub and Ben Vereen. As Kinky Boots prepares to take its final Broadway bow on Sunday, April 7, some of the cast got together to perform an epic version of 'Take What You Got.' Arranged by past Harry, Jake Odmark, the song features the only three other actors to play the role on Broadway- Andy Kelso (Opening-2014), Ross Lekites (2016-2017) and Corey Mach (2017-Closing). Watch below as they are joined by Sammy Merendino, Robert Morris, Mason Ingram, and Will Van Dyke for the ultimate dressing room jam session!
Just last night, the cast and creative team of Kinky Boots had something to say 'yeah' about! Smithsonian Institution representatives, Abbe Raven and Anthea M. Hartig stopped by to formally induct the show into the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Check out photos from the onstage ceremony below!
