As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Aaron Tveit (Broadway's CATCH ME IF YOU CAN,"Les Miserables") has been cast as "Grease's" legendary leading man, "Danny Zuko" in Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) and Paramount Television's live production of GREASE: LIVE, airing Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 (7:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

Additionally, Carlos PenaVega ("Big Time Rush") will play "Kenickie," Zuko's tough-guy sidekick. Tveit and PenaVega join Julianne Hough ("Safe Haven," "Rock of Ages") as the angelic "Sandy," Vanessa Hudgens (Broadway's GIGI,"High School Musical," "Spring Breakers") as bad girl "Rizzo" and Keke Palmer (Broadway's CINDERELLA, SCREAM QUEENS, "Masters of Sex") as "Marty."

BroadwayWorld recently checked in with Tveit on his big casting news:

What can you tell us about GREASE: LIVE?

I'm so excited about it. Tommy Kail is directing it, and I've gotten to work with him a little bit getting ready for it. I think it's gonna be so exciting. It's a great cast. They really wanna show that this thing is happening live and in the moment. They want to take that energy and the story that everyone knows. I couldn't be more excited about it. And I get to sing and dance a little bit!

And you get to do it live!

I know...live! There are gonna be millions of people watching, so I better not mess up!

I'm sure doing Broadway, like you've done for so many years, must make it a little bit easier.

I think so. It is that you can kinda lean on it and tell yourself, "No, I've done this live and eight times a week for a long time." You can lean on that experience to calm the nerves.

What will it take to get you back on Broadway?

Oh, I can't wait to be back! A new show, that I'm involved in, that's opening? I'll be there!

Tveit can be seen in his starring role in the cable series "Graceland," as FBI rookie Mike Warren. Prior to "Graceland," Tveit portrayed the character "Enjolras" in the 2012 film adaption of "Les Miserables." On Broadway, he starred in "Catch Me If You Can," and also created the role of "Gabe" in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical, "Next To Normal," which he developed off-Broadway at the Second Stage Theatre and won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance. Television audiences know him from his recurring role of "Trip Van der Bilt" on "Gossip Girl," as well as numerous guest-starring roles on "The Good Wife," "Ugly Betty" and "Law And Order: Special Victims Unit."
