Juilliard composer Lance Horne has been commissioned to write "The Pharaoh Strut" for Diana DeGarmo on The King Tutenstein float; the performance will be broadcast during the Macy's 80th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.  With lyrics by Bill Schermerhorn, choreography by Movin' Out's Tiger Martina and orchestrated by the legendary Milton Delugg, "The Pharoah Strut" also features the Grammy Award-winning Phoenix Boys Choir, of which Mr. Horne is an alum.  The parade airs on NBC the morning of Thursday November 23rd.

American Idol runner-up, Diana DeGarmo's, recorded the hit single "Dreams", which reached #1 on Billboard's hot singles chart.  She currently stars as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray on Broadway after finishing the national tour in the title role of Brooklyn: the musical. 

2006 Jonathan Larson Award Winner Lance Horne provided the vocal arrangements for Little Women on Broadway and the National tour, and contributed to Off-Broadway's Songs from an Unmade Bed.  Both recordings are available on Ghostlight Records.  Broadway veteran Kathy Brier recorded Horne's song "Provincetown" for the "One Life to Live: many voices" CD.  In addition to musicals, Horne has scored plays, and songbook evenings at the Public, Lucille Lortel, NYTW, and Lincoln Center. Mr. Horne has composed for "Sesame Street," the Lincoln Center Tree Lighting, the New York Concert Singers and numerous events for BC/EFA, PNWHI, and the Actors Fund.  Residencies include the NMTC at the O'Neill Center, TheaterWorks Palo Alto, the New School and NYU CAP21.  His rock band, Lance Horne & The One Night Stands, will play New York, L.A. and Vegas in December and January to celebrate their new live album. 

Mr. Horne is currently finishing his third annual opening number for the BC/EFA 2006 Gypsy of the Year, which bows Dec 4 & 5 at the Neil Simon, and preparing The Vegas Project, a new dance work with the Nerve Ensemble which workshops in January.  (A sneak preview can be seen this Wednesday 11/15 at The Zipper at 8:30 as part of the Nerve Ensemble's SPAM.SHOW).  Mr. Horne is currently on faculty at the Juilliard Precollege, NYU CAP21, and guest faculty at Interlochen and EAMA, Paris.
