The New York Musical Theatre Festival and CALIGULA Producer Cole McClendon are thrilled to announce that NYMF's sold out run of CALIGULA will be followed by a one week extension running from October 5th through 9th.  The ecstatic response to the show and its 20-member cast lead by Euan Morton (Tony-nominated best actor for TABOO) has exceeded all expectations.

Performances for CALIGULA, continuing at the Theatre at St. Clements, 423 West 46th Street,  are as follows:  10/05 – 8:00pm, 10/06 – 8:00pm, 10/07 – 8:00pm, 10/08 – 8:00pm, 10/09 – 2:00pm & 8:00pm.

"This matches our vision of the Festival as being a place where exciting new works can emerge and go on to a successful further life," said Executive Director Kris Stewart, "as we see how excited the audience is for works such as CALIGULA, it bodes well for future "NYMFs" and future new musicals."

As previously announced, the Festival has already extended the seasons of ALTAR BOYZ and LIKE YOU LIKE IT (extra performances can be found on the website www.nymf.org), and moved the world premiere presentation of the film TEMPTATION (featuring Michael Cerveris, Adam Pascal, Anika Noni Rose, Alice Ripley and Deven May) into a larger venue.  These shows selling out before they have even opened follows on from the NYMF season of the musical HOUDINI, which closes today after playing to capacity houses throughout its run.

NYMF productions will continue to open through October 3rd and overwhelming ticket sales have Festival Producer Geoff Cohen anticipating more sold out performances.  "The energy is palpable, from the artists here in New York to the excitement of sharing works and ideas with other artists from around the world."   JOE STARTS AGAIN, the Green Room Award-winning musical from Australia, was the first foreign-grown show to open in the Festival and will be joined over the next two weeks by the international works TOP GUN THE MUSICAL, FRANKENSTEIN … Do You Dream and TOWN AND GOWN, as well as dozens of other new musicals, seminars, concerts, cabarets and forums.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival is produced under the auspices of The National Music Theater Network, a 501(c) (3) not for profit organization. Dedicated to discovering new works, new artists and creating new stars, NYMF will do for musical theatre what Sundance does for independent film:  celebrate its diversity, creativity and future. NYMF is proudly supported by Time Out New York, AM New York, NYC and Company, Lindemanns, Rheingold, HX, Theatermania, Next, Gang Run Direct Printers, broadwayworld.com, IZZE and Galvanic Printing, and is predicted to be the largest musical theater event in New York City's history.   www.nymf.org.
