The Old Globe presents the U.S. premiere of Life After, a rapturously beautiful and stirring new musical withbook, music, and lyrics by Britta Johnson, directed by the Globe's own Barry Edelstein, opening Friday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. Withchoreography by Ann Yee and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Lynne Shankel, Life After will run March 22 - April 28, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 22-28. Life After is produced by special arrangement with Yonge Street Theatricals, Linda Barnett, and Natalie Bartello. Single tickets start at $32.00 and are now on sale. Vineyard Theatre will soon present Tony Award-winner Billy Crudup (THE COAST OF UTOPIA, Spotlight, THE METAL CHILDREN) in the world premiere production of Harry Clarke by Obie Award-winner David Cale (LILLIAN) and directed by Leigh Silverman (VIOLET). Vineyard Theatre will produce Harry Clarke in association with Audible, the world's largest seller and producer of digital spoken-word entertainment. Harry Clarke will begin performances on October 26 and open on November 21. The production will launch The Vineyard's 35th Anniversary Season.

Music Theatre Wichita continues its 2017 Season, "Hollywood to Broadway: A Summer Festival of Musical Theatre" with a new rendition of the vibrant 1954 movie musical turned stage show Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which opened June 28 in the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, KS. The second of five locally produced Broadway-scale productions, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is part of the organization's 46th season, which is also the 30th season for producing artistic director Wayne Bryan.

Directed by Broadway veteran Don Stephenson, with choreography by Melissa Zaremba, and music direction, arrangements and orchestrations by Benjamin Rauhala, performances are set to begin Thursday, June 1, 2017 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th & 10th Avenues). Further evidence that Yiddish is suddenly hip in 2017 was on flashy display last night at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, as the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene welcomed a diverse and eclectic crowd to celebrate mothers and the mother tongue in grand style. Prominent producer Daryl Roth and nine other women trailblazers in the arts, sciences, business and philanthropy were honored, and a dazzling all-female cast performed one showstopper after another. The evening's mother hen was the fabulous four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh, who delighted the audience with her funny and peppery mix of wisdom and heartfelt cheerleading for the Jewish mothers attending and for the Jewish mother in all of us.
