The Tony Award-winning Manhattan Theatre Club (Peter J. Solomon, Chairman of the Board; Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) dedicated its Broadway theatre the 'Samuel J. Friedman Theatre' on Thursday, September 4. The ceremony began at the theatre (261 West 47th Street at 8th Avenue) . MTC previously announced that it was renaming its Broadway home, until now known as the Biltmore Theatre, the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in recognition of the pioneering Broadway publicist. BWW Interviews: Talking with Tevye, Jonathan Hadary of Arena Stage's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

As the landmark American musical FIDDLER ON THE ROOF celebrates its 50th anniversary, Arena Stage is bringing the show to audiences new and old in production on the intimate and iconic Fichlander Stage. Arena's artistic director Molly Smith directs the production which features the original Jerome Robbins choreography adapted and restaged by Parker Esse. Jeffrey Walker of BroadwayWorld-DC caught up with actors Ann Arvia and Jonathan Hadary who play Golde and Tevye in the new production which is wowing audiences and dazzling critics each night. In just one week since their debut, Amazon Studios' new original pilots have quickly become fan favorites garnering rave reviews from thousands of customers. More than 85% of ratings are 4 or 5 stars, and critics are calling the pilots “fresh” and “the best pilot in years.” In addition, Amazon Instant Video saw more than a 100% increase in the average number of streams per show for prime time pilots and a 200% increase for kid's pilots per show versus last year's pilot season. Martin Sheen will return to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play that brought him a Tony Award nomination in 1964, and join with Frances Conroy and Brian Geraghty in 'The Subject Was Roses' by Frank D. Gilroy, it was announced today by Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie. 'The Subject Was Roses' replaces the previously announced 'Speed-the-Plow' by David Mamet as the first production in the Taper's 2010 season at the Los Angeles Music Center, February 10 through March 21, 2010.
