Town Hall Arts Center to Present SPRING AWAKENING, 4/11-5/4

The next production in Town Hall Arts Center's 2013-2014 Season will be Spring Awakening, Book & Lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, based on the play by Frank Wedekind. Spring Awakening is directed and choreographed by Nick Sugar, Henry Award winning director of Town Hall's 2012 production of The Who's Tommy and 2010 Henry Award winning production of RENT, and most recently seen directing and choreographing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for Town Hall this past fall. Returning for a second show in the 2013-2014 Season is Casey Andree as Melchior Gabor, most recently seen at Town Hall in Boeing-Boeing as Robert. Also returning to Town Hall, Heather Doris takes on the role of Wendla Bergmann. Heather was most recently seen at Town Hall in Oklahoma (2009) and Guys and Dolls (2010). New York State 4-H Youth and UnitedHealthcare Promote Healthy Lifestyle at Teen Conference

4-H teens from across New York attended the State Teen Action Representative Retreat (STARR conference) and participated in a variety of workshops and activities designed to challenge, excite and teach youth about the importance of nutrition and fitness. 4-H Chooses Health Action Teens ('CHATs'), trained through the UnitedHealthcare and 4-H 'Eat4-Health' partnership, led a series of 13 interactive stations based on the 'Choose Health: Food, Fun, and Fitness' curriculum created in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. The stations included hands-on learning activities such as yoga exercises, Sugar-measuring stations and agility tests, among others. Youth also had the opportunity to learn how to make their own healthy smoothies with renewable energy bikes equipped with specially installed pedal-powered blenders. (more...)
