Andrew Bovell's play, WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING, opens in Alice Springs, Australia in the year 2039. A fish falls from the sky and lands at the feet of Gabriel York. This is unusual because fish are extinct and this one still smells of the sea. It's been raining for days and Gabriel knows something is wrong. Fifty years earlier his grandfather, Henry Law had predicted that fish will fall from the sky heralding a great flood which will end life on earth as we know it. (more...)

Do you remember classic pop/rock songs of the 1970s such as "Do It Again," "My Old School," and "Reeling In the Years?" If those tunes are swirling around in your head it's because they were big hits of the period by the iconic rock group Steely Dan. The founding member of that great band, guitarist extraordinaire Denny Dias, will take the stage at New York's popular jazz club IRIDIUM on August 6 and 7 for Denny Dias & Friends, a show that will celebrate the music of Steely Dan and showcase a few of his Denny's original songs. Joining Denny will be two special guests: Celebrated pianist/composer/music director Yaron Gershovsky and popular singer Lisa Jason as the show's lead vocalist. Performances of Denny Dias & Friends will be at 8 pm and 10 pm each night. ?Jersey Tap Fest, NJ's sole dance festival featuring world-class tap faculty and extravaganza, celebrates its sixth year, August 13-16, 2015 in Roselle Park and Bloomfield, NJ. This year, the 4-day festival will offer two main stage performances: an updated format of audience favorite TAP 'N TIME, and a brand new production, Soul Walk, with all original choreography by festival founder Hillary-Marie. In addition to these performances, the festival will feature more than 30 tap dance classes with master instructors from across the tri-state area. Jersey Tap Fest also provides various opportunities for the public to participate and interact with tap dancing through history lessons, a jam session, student showcase and faculty panel discussion. Summer at the Saint Paul Conservatory of Music gets into full swing on July 6 with its annual camp, the Children's Music Workshop, a St. Paul institution for over fifteen years. Campers ages 6-12 will fill the historic Exchange Building and spill out into the McNally Smith courtyard for lunch, breaks, and impromptu concerts for mid-day passersby. Conservatory faculty provide inspiration through classes in music history, theory, choir and a choice of electives, while guest artists from all over the Twin Cities provide performance and hands-on experiences at the end of each camp day. The Workshop concludes on July 16 and 17 with two final concerts showcasing the hard work and imaginative creations of fifty campers, counselors and staff; come to hear our free performances which this year includes an original composition by former camper and counselor, Will Robertson!
