Bristol Old Vic Announces Post-Show Panellists for Women-Only Night of MEDEA

On Friday 26 May, Bristol Old Vic is taking the radical step of hosting a performance of its politically charged production, Medea, to an exclusively female audience. Directly after the show, there will be a panel discussion hosted by Bristol Women's Voice about the issues raised in the production; of what it is to be a woman and a mother today, resisting the loss of identity, and the struggles some women undertake to find retribution in a system that is often unfair. New York City Opera's 2017/2018 season will offer four new mainstage productions at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, including a Spanish-language opera as part of its Ópera en Español series. Kate Hewitt, winner of the inaugural RTST Director Award Scheme, directs Ciaran Stewart (Billy), Emily Howlett (Sylvia), Simon Rouse (Christopher), Lindy Whiteford (Beth), Oliver Johnstone (Dan) and Louisa Connolly-Burnham (Ruth). The production opens on 3 July, with previews from 29 June, and runs until 22 July. Oregon Shakespeare Festival Allen Elizabethan Theatre Opens 6/16-18

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival invites audiences to "be our guest" for a Falstaffian romp through merry old Windsor; a heroic, Homeric journey home to Ithaka; and a revelatory musical journey of self-discovery when its outdoor theatre opens the weekend of June 16-18. The Allen Elizabethan Theatre will feature The Merry Wives of Windsor, directed by Dawn Monique Williams; The Odyssey, adapted and directed by Mary Zimmerman; and Disney's Beauty and the Beast, directed by Eric Tucker. Imago Theatre's mentor Jacques Lecoq, a theatre icon who influenced the world on movement in the performing arts, taught a concept called  "the balance of the stage."  In 1998, Jerry Mouawad, Artistic Co-Director of Imago Theatre, designed a deck suspended in a black void three feet off the stage floor that tips and sways in an abyss.
