Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that tickets are on sale for A Civil War Christmas, written by Paula Vogel and directed by Tina Landau. Performances of this holiday-themed work begin Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 7pm at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Harvey Fierstein has written Tony nominated musicals for the past two seasons, and according to an interview with the Observer, there is a play on the way for next spring. A still-untitled new play will come to Broadway in Spring 2014. He told the Observerer: 'I wrote the role for myself, but it's an ensemble piece, a cast of nine. I would like to play it, but I think I hurt A Catered Affair by being in it. I think I threw the balance off because I was the playwright-and I actually wrote that role for Joel Grey, too. It's an ensemble so the focus should not be on my character.' (more...)
