TheatreZone founder and artistic director Mark Danni wants you to celebrate the holiday season at "Home for the Holidays," a newly added original live production that joins the non-profit Equity professional theatre group's 12th season roster of Broadway musicals and plays.

"We are kicking off our 2016-17 season with an original musical entertainment starring TheatreZone actors and musicians singing favorite holiday songs from different eras and dancing in sumptuous holiday costumes," explains Danni. "We are still working on a few surprises for the show, so stay tuned. But we urge everyone to book early as we'll sell out quickly," he believes. Four performances only: Friday, December 9 @ 8 pm, Saturday, December 10 @ 8 pm and Sunday December 11, 2016 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.

TheatreZone opens its 12th season series in January 2017 with the musical hit George M!, the life story of Broadway icon George M. Cohan, closely followed by the Tony award-winning Best Play Amadeus in February, Dolly Parton's 9 to 5: The Musical! in March and the season concludes with the Peter Allen musical comedy Legs Diamond Lives Again in April/May.

George M! focuses on Cohan's life and show business career from his early days in vaudeville with his parents and sister to his later success as a Broadway singer, dancer, composer, lyricist, theatre director and producer. Known as "the father of musical theatre," Cohan published more than 500 songs in his lifetime including hit songs as "Over There," "Give My Regards To Broadway," "You're A Grand Old Flag," and "Yankee Doodle Dandy."

The 1968 Broadway production starred actor Joel Grey. The show won the Tony Award for Best Choreography (Joe Layton) and The Theatre World Award for Best Debut Performance (Bernadette Peters). George M! performs January 12 through January 22, 2017.

February showcases Amadeus, a highly fictionalized account of the lives of the composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri. This provocative work weaves a confrontation between mediocrity and genius into a tale of breathtaking dramatic power. Amadeus runs for 11 performances February 9 through February 19, 2017.

In March, TheatreZone stages Dolly Parton's 9 to 5: The Musical! based on the 1980 hit movie, where three unlikely friends - an overworked office manager, a jilted wife and an objectified secretary -- conspire to depose their smarmy boss and begin making woman-friendly changes in the workplace. It's about teaming up and taking care of business, getting credit and getting even. 9 to 5 performs March 9 until March 19, 2017.

TheatreZone's Season 11 finale is Legs Diamond Lives Again, the infamous Peter Allen musical comedy that follows the travails of its title character. Allen wrote the catchy, witty and memorable score and starred in the title role of the infamous 1988 Broadway production.

According to Danni, veteran Broadway actor Larry Alexander (The Boy From Oz). returns to TheatreZone to act the lead role Peter Allen played on Broadway at the Mark Hellinger Theatre. Legs Diamond Lives Again performs April 27 through May 7, 2017.
