As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Katie Lowes ('Scandal') and actor/director Adam Shapiro (Steve Jobs) will join the company of Waitress tonight, July 17 in the roles of Dawn and Ogie, respectively. As she prepares the host the Tony Awards tomorrow evening, Sara Bareilles received a huge surprise from the Broadway and touring casts of Waitress. Broadway cast member Christopher Fitzgerald delivered a care package to Bareilles' dressing room at Radio City, where she unpacked goodies handpicked by the casts. Watch the video below!

'Cast Album Karaoke,'WAITRESS's hugely popular post-show party, will take place following the 7 PM show on Tuesday June 12 with special guest Jason Mraz returning to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47 Street) to co-host along with cast member Tiffany Mann. Jason made his Broadway debut in the show in December.

There comes a moment late in act two of Waitress, the Jessie Nelson-Sara Bareilles musical now onstage at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall, when Desi Oakley - the actress portraying Jenna Hunterson, the show's very pregnant heroine - finds herself bathed in the bright glow of a spotlight and she delivers the show's stirring and emotionally driven climax: a performance of Bareilles' plaintive pop ballad "She Used to Be Mine," arguably the score's best-known and most beloved song.

Order up!  It has been announced that theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has secured licensing rights to the Broadway hit, Waitress.

The producers of Broadway's hit Waitress announced today that Katharine McPhee will take another shift at the pie diner when she extends her engagement, returning to the show from July 5 - August 19. She made her Broadway debut in the show on April 10; her current engagement ends on June 17.

Broadway in New Orleans, along with the hit Broadway show WAITRESS, are adding a local touch to the show by naming New Orleans' top pie.
