 James Beard Award-Winner and Iron Chef Jose Garces has announced a brand new line-up for his Chefs in Residency Program at Volvér on Kimmel Cultural Campus. Back in time for the return of in-person performing arts, Garces kicks off season two with Chef Ruben 'Big Rube' Harley (Chef Big Rube’s Kitchen at Pitchers Pub).

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE will present The Golden Girls Live: On Stage! on Saturday, September 24 at 9:30 PM. The show was created almost twenty years ago by Peter Mac and John Mac as a loving drag tribute to everyone's favorite sitcom.

TFANA has extended the run of Alice Childress’s Wedding Band, directed by Awoye Timpo, to May 22. (The production, which began previews April 28—postponed from an original date of April 23 due to two COVID-19 cases—was formerly set to close May 15).

Returning to the venue after a successful show earlier this year, Tirado will again present a passionate and dynamic evening of traditional Flamenco music and dance through a contemporary lens, melding improvisation, emotion, “duende,” singing, and guitar playing.

Hosted by Food Network staple, Alex Guarnaschelli, each hour-long episode presents viewers with outdoor cooking battles where anything can happen, as four talented chefs persuade unsuspecting customers to sell their groceries as they attempt to turn the ingredients into themed culinary delights.

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE – New York’s newest hotspot for intimate dining and extraordinary music – will continue its special partnership with Jazz Foundation of America. The unique concert series, taking place every Wednesday in April with shows at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM, will benefit the JFA Musicians’ Fund, which provides financial assistance to musicians in crisis.

This week I saw productions of two decades-old musicals, each written by one of theatre's great composer/lyricists, which, in their original productions, ran a combined total of nine performances on Broadway.

The Music Center and Levy announced a new partnership with acclaimed chef and native Angeleno Ray Garcia to create a new dining concept for the anchor restaurant space located in The Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. Today's announcement marks the introduction of several new food and beverage experiences that will roll out throughout the fall and winter of 2021 as part of a plan to reimagine dining at the nation's third largest performing arts center.

Wynn Handman, the famed New York acting teacher and Artistic Director of The American Place Theatre, died at home April 11, 2020 of Covid-19 related pneumonia. He was 97.

This season features the classic rock'n'roll energy of "Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles" (July 4); John Williams' thrilling soundtrack of "Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert" performed live to film (Aug. 17); and everyone's favorite summer finale: Tchaikovsky Spectacular (Sept. 7), with guest violinist Benjamin Beilman, first prize winner in the 2010 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the 2010 Montreal International Musical Competition.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Actor/playwright/cabaret entertainer, Tony nominee and two-time MAC Award winner Charles Busch appears in a musical entertainment that gets to the essence of this legendary theatrical figure. Through an eclectic songbook from the seventies and early eighties, Busch unfolds an outrageously comic yet also poignant tale of his early years striving to find a place for himself in show business. Songs include the work of Michel Legrand, Rupert Holmes, Stephen Sondheim, Jim Croce among the best of Broadway, film and pop. He will be joined by his longtime musical director Tom Judson.
