Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is bringing back its widely successful 2016 production of the timeless, sexy cult classic! Richard O'Brien's hit musical a?oeThe Rocky Horror Showa?? is a show like no other and has been making people jump up and dance to its fun and provocative songs for decades. This year the Frederick community can once again join in the fun, thanks to MET and Frederick Community College.

Richmond Triangle Players celebrates the greatest cult musical of all time with its production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show, in a strictly limited run, opening Friday October 18, 2019, at 8 pm, following one low-priced preview on Thursday, October 17 at 8 pm. The production will run just eleven performances, through October 26.

Theatre audiences are certainly less easy to shock these days than they were back in 1973 when Richard O'Brien's outrageous musical The Rocky Horror Show first debuted at the Royal Court. These days gender is a much more fluid concept and cross-dressing is commonplace rather than quirky. Shows such as Everyone's Talking About Jamie and Kinky Boots have The Rocky Horror Show to thank for elevating cross dressing to the mainstream. Despite the fact that the show is no longer radical, here's still something deliciously teasing about a show that celebrates an alternative sexual reality and the joy of grown men wearing fishnets.

Pontiac Theatre IV will open its 2018/2019 season on October 26th with THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, live on stage! Every so often an offbeat show comes along that's nonsensical and nutty. But not all those shows have the longevity or fandom of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. The costumed crowd filling the Town of Cary's Booth Amphitheater for the limited run of Theatre Raleigh's production the weekend before Halloween was a testament to that. THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW premiered in London in 1973. After a successful run in Los Angeles in 1974, the show flopped on Broadway and closed after a mere 45 performances. Its fate as a cult-classic was sealed though when the 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' film opened in 1975.

Comedian Dom Joly, actress Beverley Callard, TV presenter Alison Hammond, comedian Steve Punt and actor Philip Franks will star as The Narrator in the 2018/9 UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show. The five stars will take to the stage to perform the iconic role at various moments during the new national tour of the show, which opens at Theatre Royal Brighton this December and then travels across the country until November 2019. More celebrity narrators will be announced over the coming months.
