A whole lot happened in Oz before Dorothy dropped in, and Wicked has been telling that story to Broadway audiences for 15 years at the Gershwin Theatre. The milestone won't go by uncelebrated, as in just days, NBC will throw a joyous Halloween party for the ages, featuring songs from the blockbuster musical hit and a cavalcade of special guest stars, including Tony Award winners Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. Additional guest performers include Ariana Grande, Adam Lambert, Ledisi, Pentatonix and the current Broadway company of 'Wicked.' 'A Very Wicked Halloween' airs Monday Oct. 29th at 10PM ET/PT on NBC.

On October 30, 2003, a little show called Wicked opened at the Gershwin Theatre... the rest is history. Let us be glad! Let us be grateful and rejoycify that it is still around a whopping 15 years later, making it the sixth longest-running show in Broadway history.

To celebrate 'Wicked's' 15th anniversary on Broadway, NBC will throw a joyous Halloween party for the ages. Tuesday night Kristin Chenoweth was a guest on CONAN. While there she and Conan discussed her distinctive sounding voice. Chenoweth tells viewers not to adjust the volume on the TV, because yes that is how she sounds. Conan and her go on to talk about her ability to harmonize with anything, even a fire alarm. Music Theatre Wichita concludes its 2018 Season with the return of Disney's "The Little Mermaid," directed and choreographed by Linda Goodrich, with musical direction by Thomas W. Douglas. The 60-member cast includes Broadway veterans working alongside some of the nation's most promising new talent, all showcased in an brand-new staging, featuring imaginative sets and costumes inspired by the classic Disney film. In 2011, Music Theatre Wichita was one of the first three theatres in the country to receive permission from the Disney Company to produce this title following its Broadway run, and the new edition marks the local premiere of the newly revised script and score. "The Little Mermaid" runs for ten performances, August 8-18 at the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, Kansas.

Music Theatre Wichita continues its 2018 Season with one of the first regional productions of the newly revised Pippin, reflecting the changes composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz and librettist Roger O. Hirson introduced in the 2013 Broadway revival. Directed and choreographed by Emmy-nominated Al Blackstone ("So You Think You Can Dance"), the lavish production features a 32-member cast in an all-new staging. The fourth of five self-produced musicals in MTWichita's 2018 season, the run continues through July 29. Disney's The Little Mermaid will conclude the season August 8-18.

On Tuesday, Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth hosted the the 39th annual Banff World Media Festival's Rockie Awards Gala Ceremony, which featured a star-studded line-up of award recipients. During the ceremony, Chenoweth invited the head of NBC, Robert Greenblatt, to the stage to accompany her singing 'Bring Him Home' from Les Misérables. Sharing the video on Facebook, she wrote, 'Had the absolute honor of hosting Banff World Media Festival's Rockie Awards last night!
