The summer of The Knocks has only just begun, and the beloved electronic music duo are dropping a new single called “Colors,” officially out today through Big Beat/Neon Gold. The effortlessly cool pair keep churning out hit after sweltering hit; July saw the release of two new singles called “New York Luau” and “No Requests,” both of which you can check out here, which was preceded by their other latest single “Awa Ni”, with the Nigerian singer Kah-Lo.

This Friday, July 12th, Wear Your Wounds (the project created by Converge founder Jacob Bannon) will release their new LP Rust on the Gates of Heaven.  In advance of the album's street date, the band has premiered the album's slow building, reverb-soaked third single, “Rainbow Fades” — watch and share now on YouTube (and brace yourself for the payoff at the end).

Today, Mom + Pop Music has appointed Suzanna Slavin as Director of A&R. Suzanna began her career at Mom + Pop as an intern in 2013, eventually landing a full-time job in January 2014. Working alongside Mom + Pop Founder and Co-President, Michael Goldstone as his Executive AssistantA&R scout, she began to research and pitch viable new talent while building a presence in the music scene by attending shows and scouting new talent. As her career progressed, she began to do A&R coordination across the entire Mom + Pop roster.

Rising pop star Miya Folick debuts a new song “Malibu Barbie” today. The song marks the first new material from Folick since her critically acclaimed debut album,Premonitions, released last fall on Terrible Records/Interscope Records.

Wear Your Wounds was created by Converge founder Jacob Bannon. Initially conceived as a solo project, it evolved into a five-piece band that often works with collaborating musicians. In 2017 Wear Your Wounds released WYW (the debut double album) and Arthritic Heart (a New Noise Magazine single). A live band was then assembled for a number of shows including Roadburn Festival 2017 and Desert Festival UK. Later on that year their Dunedevil (an experimental album) was released; a companion piece to Bannon's abstract art book of the same name. In 2018 Wear Your Wounds released their Live at the BBC 12' LP at Maida Vale Studio (MV4). That year Wear Your Wounds also played select shows on the East Coast and Europe including an appearance at Roadburn Festival 2018, which was also curated by Bannon.

Hylton Performing Arts Center announced today its 2019-2020 season of mainstage performances, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and ensembles across genres, as part of Hylton Presents, Hylton Family Series, Matinee Idylls, and the American Roots Series. The Hylton Center also announced the first Hylton Center EXTRA! for the season: the husband and wife duo and banjo icons, B la Fleck and Abigail Washburn, in a special concert event featuring their unique blend of alternative bluegrass. The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced today the 2019/2020 season of Great Performances at Mason, its annual series featuring leading national and international artists in the disciplines of classical music, opera, jazz, ballet, modern dance, theater, and global music and dance. The Center also announced the return of the Family Series, offering its second season of affordable programming for young audiences.

New York City-based The Knocks (comprised of Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson) release their second full length LP New York Narcotic today through Neon Gold/Big Beat Records, featuring a slew of incredible guest vocalists including Foster the People, Method Man, Big Boi, Sir Sly, Alexis Krauss from Sleigh Bells and Sofi Tukker.
