"'Christmas party, meeting my baby there...' Are the lyrics that begin the love story in the newest Christmas wedding song of 2018, "Merry Me This Christmas". It was a New York City Christmas party on a snow-white wintery night. I had met a cutie, online a couple months earlier, when Santa sent us both a party invitation to the same Christmas party. It was the perfect opportunity to sled down from Hell's Kitchen via Ninth Avenue, meet up with my Christmas cutie in Chelsea and find mistletoe to test the waters. Up until that night, we had only known each other as Facebook profiles. That night would be the beginning of a love story that would send me down the aisle in a winter wedding this past December. I wanted to write a song that told that love story. The song begins in a romantic 60's meter to audio color the world of a Christmas party as the party guests mingle. And in the moment our eyes lock in the storyline of the song lyrics, the musical meter shifts to a contemporary pop vibe where the character hears a choir singing 'Merry me, merry me this Christmas,' light and faint at first but then by the end of the song the choir has turned the main refrain 'Merry Me, Merry Me This Christmas' into a triumphant Christmas love chorus. I hope my December wedding anthem inspires winter Romeos to get down on one knee and profess their love while sleigh bells ring across the sky this holiday season!"
