Independent Music Company Mom+Pop Celebrates Ten Years

This fall, leading American independent music company Mom+Pop will celebrate their tenth anniversary. To kick things off, the label will throw a very special celebration at Brooklyn Steel on October 22, featuring performances by some of their top artists including Courtney Barnett, Alice Merton, Sleigh Bells,Sunflower Bean, Neon Indian, Tom Morello and more to be announced soon. To further celebrate, the label will release a compilation box set, 10 Years of Mom+Pop, on November 23 as part of Record Store Day Black Friday. The three-LP box set includes a curated selection of greatest hits, as well as over 20 covers and rarities by artists such as Courtney Barnett, Metric, Sleigh Bells and many others. Additionally, "Holly," a previously unreleased song by Sleigh Bells from the 2010 Treats sessions, premieres today with digital box set pre-order. A series of picture disc reissues of catalog releases is forthcoming this fall.

Mom+Pop is run by Founder Michael Goldstone and Co- President Thaddeus Rudd. "Our ambition has been and always will be to build a collaborative label with transparency and sincere respect for our artist's creative controls."

Over the past few years, Mom+Pop have signed multi-talented artists such as Lucius, FIDLAR, Poliça, Neon Indian and Jagwar Ma. In 2014 they licensed Australian artists Flume and Courtney Barnett-Flume went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Electronic Album for Skin, and Courtney Barnett performed on the 2016 "Saturday Night Live" season finale and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Mom+Pop's current roster has grown to include incredible artists such as Alina Baraz, Alice Merton, Tash Sultana, Sunflower Bean, Ashe, Hinds, Jai Wolf, Bayonne, Tom Morello, MNDR, Raffaella and Lady Lamb.
