Victory Gardens Theater continues its 2021/22 Mainstage Season with the world premiere of In Every Generation, written by Ali Viterbi and directed by Devon de Mayo. This is a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere by Victory Gardens, the Olney Theatre Center (MD), and San Diego Repertory Theatre (CA). 

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP), San Diego Urban Warriors Inc. and the African American Advisory Council of San Diego REP announced today the schedule for the 30th Annual San Diego Kuumba Fest. Curated by festival Artistic Director Dajahn Blevins, the 2022 Kuumba Fest will take place both in person (and virtually) at the San Diego Repertory Theatre February 24 – 27, 2022.

At the end of this season, San Diego REP will have produced 333 productions under Woodhouse’s leadership - more than 50 of them were world premieres.

New Village Arts (NVA), North County's cultural hub, is presenting the world premiere of DESERT ROCK GARDEN February 11 to March 13, 2022. The production is a fictionalized historical story about a young orphan and a Japanese immigrant who forge a friendship in the Topaz War Relocation Center in 1943, revealing the inherent human ability to transform nothing — loneliness and barren desert — into something long-lasting and precious. 

Following a postponement of their scheduled January opening due to water damage at the theatre, San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced new dates for their production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

The Desert Rose musical is a story about the triumph of pure love over evil in a setting that shows some of the most disinherited yet essential workers in our society, migrant farmworkers, and Mexican immigrants. Life presents forces to contend with and choices that have deep consequences.

The Second City’s SHE THE PEOPLE has brought a cadre of comedic women to the San Diego Repertory Theatre who will make you laugh and then want to go out and try to change the world.  Entirely created, designed, and performed by the women of this world-famous comedy institution it proves that the future is female and very funny.  SHE THE PEOPLE is playing through December 5th.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces seven world premiere live streamed musical films produced by HERSHEY FELDER PRESENTS – LIVE FROM FLORENCE, including Dante & Beatrice in Florence, Mozart and Figaro in Vienna, The Verdi Fiasco, The Assembly, Chopin in Paris, The Crazy Widow of Moses de Leon, and a musical surprise for holiday time.

MOTHER ROAD proves that there is nothing that makes a family fight or bond, more than a road trip. Now playing at San Diego Repertory Theatre through October 31st, MOTHER ROAD  offers a diverse and modern perspective to family, legacy, and what it means to be able to come back home.

Aurora Theatre Company continues its 30th season with the World Premiere of Kait Kerrigan's FATHER/DAUGHTER, a recipient of the 2021 Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. Bay Area theatre artist M. Graham Smith directs William Thomas Hodgson and Sam Jackson (The Bluest Eye, Exit Strategy, Splendour) in this beautifully innovative play about love, family, and relationships.
